Direct deposit is the most reliable way to receive your payments
Direct deposit, or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), is the fastest and most reliable way to receive Passport program payments, avoiding delays from Canada Post disruptions. Contact your Passport Agency to set up a direct deposit.

Beat the rush! Submit your claims now |
Many invoices are submitted at fiscal year-end (March 31) which can lead to processing and reimbursement delays. Passport recipients are strongly encouraged to submit their invoices at least once per month or right after their purchase to help reduce delays. Please make sure that your claim forms are properly completed and supporting documents and receipts are included in the submission as needed.
For even faster reimbursements, try using eCLAIM or MyDirectPlan to submit your Passport claims.

How do category limits affect your funding?
There are category limits on certain items: for example, you cannot spend more than $3,000 of your total funding amount each year on technology items, more than $2,500 on person-directed planning, more than $2,000 on supplies and equipment for community participation and supports, or more than 10% of your total funding on administrative expenses. If you receive more than $5,500 in Passport funding each year, these category limits are still the same. Have questions?

Should you contact the Passport program or Developmental Services Ontario (DSO)? |
Once you have been referred to the Passport program, you do not need to contact DSO about your Passport program file. Instead, contact your local Passport agency for anything that is related to the Passport program, including: admissible items, invoicing, funding balance, registering support workers, etc.
However, if you are experiencing changes in your service needs, you move to a new address, or change your contact information, you need to contact your area DSO to update your file with them.

Tips to prepare for fiscal year-end | |
|
Here are some tips from a Passport Coordinator to help families prepare for the upcoming fiscal year-end (March 31, 2025).
- Collect any receipts or invoices you have not submitted yet. You can claim past expenses if you still have money left from a previous fiscal year and your expenses are dated during that year.
| |
- Check with your Passport Coordinator to confirm how much money is left for the year if you are unsure.
- Make sure your receipts have all the details: vendor’s name, service start (and end dates if applicable), total amount paid, and description of the purchase. PassportONE will only accept itemized receipts.
- If you submit claims through MyDirectPlan (MDP), check that the budget line shows what is left for this fiscal year or you might get an error when trying to submit expenses.
- Make sure programs, services, or other items are eligible before buying them.
- Submit your expenses as soon as possible. There are often delays at the end of the year because PassportONE gets many submissions at once. This can make processing take longer.
IMPORTANT REMINDER:
Passport funding automatically renews for the same amount on April 1st. and there is no need for a new Agreement. Passport agencies do not send out any documentation to confirm funding amount at the start of the fiscal year.

I am the sister of a passport client and the sole caregiver. Passport has greatly improved the quality of life for both of us. Since my brother lives with me, it gives us the opportunity to have time apart and individual growth; as well as social interaction, creative development, and exercise. Greatly appreciated, thank you to the Passport team!
