WOW!! What a great weekend, and to think we are just getting started. From Thursday to Monday, it looked like a lot of you were ready for boating season. Congrats to the Derby Winners. In case you weren’t a lucky winner, there will be two more chances at the next races to recoup your losses!

Now it's on to Mother's Day Weekend. We have a big day planned for the kids at AYC on Saturday. Lots to keep them entertained while mom enjoys lunch and bottomless mimosas. There will even be a craft project so little ones can make Mom a gift. Then on Sunday, treat Mom to a buffet fit for a queen. Get your reservations into Leta and leave the dishes to us.

Tiff and I will be in Stillwater this weekend for Haley's graduation from Oklahoma State! We are so proud of her and can’t wait to celebrate her accomplishments.

Let's not forget that the sales team will be getting out all their shiny toys this weekend, and I can't think of a better gift, MOM WANTS A NEW BOAT!

Lots of fun stuff coming up this weekend. Now that the beautiful weather has arrived we can just officially start summer. Let's get to it. We will have a MOTHER DAY IN WATER BOAT SHOW this weekend. I know that doesn't sound like the most "Mother's Day" thing to do, but Mothers love boating, and we want to make sure that they get the boat that they want. So, stop into Arrowhead Yacht Club and check out all the inventory. Also, If you haven't already seen our Arrowhead Tritoon Challenge on Facebook or online then check it out below. We want to have the opportunity to show you our Tritoons with no risk to you. Come check out our boats, and if you don't agree that ours ride better than any other tritoon on the market, we will buy you a steak dinner. Now that is a fun challenge. See you at the Lake.

We're off to the races (the week after the KY Derby) in our tritoon challenge! New tritoon boats are moving quickly with our recent incentives - so don't be the last one to this finish line! Call our showroom today to hear about available floorplans in our Harris and Barletta pontoon boats.

Boy it was a busy weekend, I am looking forward to another one! I didn't get away much from Prairie Creek Marina on Saturday (other than by boat) - it was great to see the marina coming to life. The marina parking lot was full of vehicles and people were out soaking the sun up or getting their boats ready for the season. We were able to get on the water for leisure Saturday and Sunday evenings. The sun was hot and the water was about 70 degrees. The sun and warm rain this week should help move the temps along nicely. Friendly reminder that our weekends book up quickly with appointments so if you're thinking of coming out please give us a call and schedule a time so we can guarantee the best experience while you are here. Cheers! - Braden T.

The weather over the weekend was fantastic for boating. As it warms up outside and we get closer to Memorial Day weekend it’s time to start thinking about getting your boating plans for the upcoming summer. We are delivering boats daily to customers and still have plenty of in stock boats to choose from new or used. If you haven’t heard we are having a tri-toon challenge going on currently with a 3.5% Discount off the selling price of any new in stock Harris or Barletta. Stop by the store or give us a call to setup your test drive today on a new Harris or Barletta!

This is the most exciting time at Arrowhead Boat Sales I have ever witnessed! Our lot is FULL and our store is PACKED. It’s warm and sunny and there is something for everyone to enjoy. I will personally be decked out in the newest Cobalt sportwear and trying my best to master the hydrofoil this year. I’ve also planned some evening triton cruises just to sit back and enjoy beautiful Beaver Lake. I’m so excited about Summer 2023 I can’t stop talking about all the coming cruises and adventures so if you need anything to make your lake life complete this year, stop in and say hello!

Mother’s Day is this weekend, and you know what that means: BUY MOMMA A BOAT!!!

We want to wish a happy Mother’s Day to everyone out there that we call mom. We wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for you!

All we can say is wow, what an amazing weekend. The weather was perfect and just what we needed to get over the hump of spring. With temperatures up around the 90’s, it was truly great to get out on the water and celebrate the Silver’s on their brand new 2023 Barletta L25UEA. This is the first boat to come through our dealership with the all new AccuThrust system. Bow and stern thrusters on a Tritoon, who would have guessed?! Tritoon’s have come so far, and continue to become better and better each year. Barletta offers the AccuThrust system, and Harris is offering the new Mercury joystick, to make docking seamless for veteran boaters, and new boaters alike! In fact, these rides are so seamless, that we are still running our Tritoon Challenge! We swear up and down that we have the best riding toon’s on the market! We challenge each and every one of you to not just take us for our word, but to ask us to put our money where our mouth is. The tritoon challenge is a chance for us to prove we have the best riding boats, and if you disagree, then you get a steak dinner on us! Call us today to schedule your VIP demo, and take the Tritoon Challenge!

Safe Boating Tips

1. Be weather wise,

Always check local Weather conditions before departure, TV and radio forecasts can be a good source of information. Stay aware of your surroundings, upcoming weather, and any potential hazards.

2. Follow a pre-departure checklist

be prepared for any possibility when on the water by following a pre-departure checklist; you’re making sure no boating rules or safety precautions have been overlooked or forgotten.

3. Use common sense

Operate at a safe speed at all times, especially in crowded areas, stay alert at all times, and steer clear of large vessels and watercraft that can be restricted in their ability to stop or turn. Be respectful of buoys and other navigation aids.

4. Designate a 2nd skipper

Make sure there is more than one person on board that is familiar with the vessel, how to operate it, and navigate it back to port in the event of an emergency.

5. Develop a float plan

Include the following: name, address, phone number of the trip leader, and all the passengers. Boat information: registration and insurance. Trip itinerary. Types of communication and signal equipment on board.

6. Life Jackets

Make sure everyone on board has a life jacket that is fitted for them and knows where to find it.

7. Avoid alcohol

8. Learn to swim

9. Take a boating course

If you have any questions or need technical assistance with your boat, give us a call, and we'll be happy to help with whatever we can. It is always best to send us an email, so we both have less chance of miscommunication unless it's urgent; then please call us. As always, have a wonderful time on the beautiful Grand, and have a safe boating season.

Happy Thursday, Lake Rockers!

The weather has been incredibly awesome the past few weeks and the boat traffic at the gas dock last weekend was fantastic! We sold over 2,000 gallons of fuel so I know many of you are back in full summer swing! This weekend the temperatures will continue to be in the high 80s so get the boat ready and come by the ship store for your supplies! We are stocked and ready for a busy summer!

Don't forget to stop by on Saturday for the Mother's Day festivities. There will be so much for the kids and grandkids to do from the bouncy house, crafts, pony rides, face painting, and delicious food. Then most importantly there will be bottomless mimosas and bloody mary's for moms and grandmas! There will also be a phenomenal in-water boat show going on this weekend. We are continuing to host the Tritoon challenge for anyone thinking about getting into some of the most versatile boats in the industry. It's worth a ride to experience the comfort and luxury in our Barletta and Harris lines.

If you're interested in buying a new or pre-owned boat, please call 918-440-8384. In case you didn't know, we also have the best trade-in and brokerage programs on Grand Lake, and we can help make the selling process pain-free; give me a call.

See you this weekend! Keep the shiny side up!

149TH KENTUCKY DERBY

AND THE WINNER IS……………………..MAGE!

It was a wide open clean horse race with a stretch run and win from behind! Who could have asked for more? (me, my horse didn’t win) We broke all records for our Derby party, and it was a blast! Thanks to the models, the ladies that built bonnets, Jeremy and Brandon for the superb Oyster Roast, and Davey and Jesse for running the numbers and odds!

The march to a possible Triple Crown continues to the Preakness on Sat., May 20. The early favorite to win the middle jewel of the Triple Crown is of course Mage. We will follow the same format with an Oyster Roast or Yacht Club Shrimp Cocktails. The bonnet contest will be expanded to a MENS and Women's division. There were many guys that were pretty authentic-looking Derby dudes. You know we are kind of Woke and want to include EVERYONE!

Our part is to provide a Grand Feast worthy of Mom, relaxing, no planning, no cooking, and better than anything else………..no clean up afterward. Just bring the family and enjoy, time is precious. Let Mom enjoy what she has dedicated so much effort and her life towards.

Sunday, May 21, Haley Harwood’s Come and Go graduation reception 2 to 4 pm Poolside dining CYC. Refreshments and hors de oeuvres. Everyone is welcome, we are requesting your presence, and smiling faces, not your presents.

MEMORIAL WEEKEND AND SUMMER AHEAD

We will now be turning our complete focus to the Memorial Day Weekend and the summer calendar. The last piece of the summer schedule will be the addition of the Wed Asian night at AYC, starting Wed., May 24. This will complete our Summer schedule of having one club or the other open six days a week. With only Tuesday being closed and with AYC being closed Mon. & Tue., and CYC being closed Tue. & Wed. Cabana at CYC will be running Fri., Sat., and Sun. Cabana will be closed on Mother's Day. VIP is open Thurs through Sun. Sharky's Bar runs Fri. night, Sat & Sun. We are now geared up for a full Summertime, and the Living is Easy! I've just never liked that song! But I do like Summer, Sunshine, Hot Weather, Boating, and Clubbing with YOU! All capital letters!

Speaking of boating, one of my favorite topics. I haven't gotten much boating done this Spring. That is now going to change and going to put together an overnight raft out up at Broad Water Hollow. One of my favorite anchor-out destinations. It will probably be after the 4th. Too much going on between now and the fourth.

Keep in mind this year, we are returning to a 2-day air show. The rehearsal on Mon. July 3rd. Then the whole 9 yards on Monday, July 4th. Including the largest Fireworks Show in at least the four-state area. All American built fireworks and planes. As Will Rogers said, "If it's the truth, it ain't bragging!"

We have dedicated 10% of our gross fireworks donation towards the Tunnel to Towers organization to help in their support of First responders, veterans, and their families. Lord knows we need them. We need them now more than ever! I know our Fireworks patriarch Bill Bailey would be proud of our making this move. The very heart and soul of the Duck Creek Fireworks is the support and recognition of veterans. "America, Home of the FREE because of the Brave!"

This official Duck Creek Fireworks T-shirt will be unveiled soon. We worked with Stan Clark and Eskimo Joe's on the design. They have some of the best graphic artists on the planet, and the proofs show it! I can't wait for you to see their work.

Back to boating, remember the best, and bulk of the boating season is ahead. We now have ample inventory of most boat company models, allowing you to pick from a large inventory and get fast to immediate delivery. Also, all boating manufacturers have implemented summer incentive programs of all different types to encourage summertime boat purchases. Each company program is different and different on individual models. Please Ck with your Arrowhead Boat Sales representative for the details. You will be surprised at the dollar values of these incentives. And Remember, that used boat of yours, …….." I Guarantee you it's getting worth less money every day!" So why not step up and get a new or different boat for this season? We are also getting new trades every day that are the finest pre-owned boats available. We only sell top of the line quality new boats. And that is what the people trade into us! Top quality, low hours, fresh water, used boats! And we will pay top dollar for them!

MEMBER NEWS: The Platinum Dinner & Commodore Couples Ball scheduled next March will be in honor of our current Commodore Couple, Preston, and Christa Kelley. Plus will be the announcement of the new 2024/2025 Commodore Couple. This will be a Grand Pomp and Circumstance dinner and event. The minimum required to be spent at the Clubs to attend this event is being raised to $4,000. This is the first raise of that minimum in over 20 years.

The SUN is rising over Duck Creek. No cars, no traffic, and the ONLY thing we overlook is the Lake! And it is Grand, Beaver, Grove, and Oklahoma City!

JOE

This is Mother’s Day weekend - a holiday to give mom her own personal “time out.” It’s a day to express gratitude for the key role that all “mothers” (grandmoms, stepmoms, aunts, sisters, mother figures, women mentors, fathers who act as both mother and father, and friends who “mother” us) do in making us feel our best so that everyone is able to do whatever makes them happy and successful. Mother’s Day is special.

If the special mom in your life enjoys golf, send her out to the golf course. Women know that playing golf has benefits. It gets you outside to enjoy some fresh air as well as a fun way to get in some exercise. It’s also a great way to spend time with friends.

For more information about joining The Coves Golf Club, arrange golf lessons, tour the golf course and pro shop, contact Mark Hill, the Pro Shop Manager, at (918) 782-3220.
