The Cowboys did their part in the war against Texas football this past weekend. No need to talk about the Sooners. It's not going to get any easier for either team, with TCU at home against the Cowboys and OU playing the HOT KU Jayhawks. As always, we will have it all on the TV's in Hookers and AYC.

The Christmas Light Boat Parade is fast approaching. It's always a great way to finish up the season with family and friends. So get signed up. I guarantee a great time will be had by all.

If you're a slip renter of ours in Duck Creek, we are having a party on Saturday to show our appreciation. The party will be from 11 am - 3 pm at AYC, and yes, football will be on the TVs.  

Be sure to mark your calendars for the Ketchum Scholastic Foundation Banquet on October 27th at 6 pm. This is such a wonderful event, and you will want to hear all the amazing ways the school has and will use the funds raised. Hello lake family! It’s fall and the weather is perfect! Cabana is open another weekend as long as this weather holds out. We will have all the games on and drink specials to enjoy pool side. Mike and his Angels are serving up the coldest beer and freshest cocktails on the lake! Come watch the ball games with us and grab a bite off our updated menu!

Arrowhead had a perfect evening last weekend for our first Cigar and Bourbon dinner. We will do another one! It was wonderful!

The weather is gonna be great this weekend. Prime time football Thursday night has Washington against the Bears, Chicago by 17. Another big 5 O’clock Somewhere Party Friday, show your membership card, and your 2nd drink is on us till 7. Another early game Saturday for the Sooners. Maybe they are not morning people like me. I’m afraid the Jayhawks will be awake for this one. At 2:30, Oklahoma State will be at TCU for a close game, Pokes by 2. At the same time, Arkansas takes on BYU, Hogs by double digits. Sunday, we’ve got the comfort food supper, and don’t forget we get all the NFL games every Sunday. Schedule your Winterize now

If you have not scheduled a winterization, you can still get it done. Our Schedule is getting full. Please schedule your winterization early.  Don’t let your boat freeze and break. The cold weather can sneak up on you. Engine blocks are very expensive to replace, and with recent events, they are getting harder to get.

Please keep in mind 10/31 is our guaranteed safe date any date you choose after that, you are responsible for any freeze damage that may occur. The Arrowhead Service Department requires at least one week's advanced notice to change your winterization date.

Our schedule is full for the week of 10/24, so please schedule before or after the week of October 24th.

 Please schedule your winterization for the week of 10/17 or before or the week of 11/07/2022 or after.

Please remember the service department is closed on the weekends until next spring.

If you have any questions or need technical assistance with your boat, give us a call, and we'll be happy to help with whatever we can. It is always best to send us an email, so we both have less chance of miscommunication unless it's urgent; then please call us. As always, have a wonderful time on the beautiful Grand, and have a safe boating season.

It’s that time of year the fish are jumping, and the footballs are flying. It’s about time for the trees to start changing. It’s Grand Laker at its best.

If you're wanting a boat to use year-round, I just traded for a really cool one. I have been trading for new boats every week if you have one in mind. It’s that time of year.

Don’t forget to stop by Cedar Port Marina by the dam in Disney and fill up with Marine Pure fuel. If you ask, I’ll toss in the first bottle of fuel conditioner as well as flush out your holding tank and freshwater system. I want to thank all my Grand Lake friends for an amazing summer. Now it’s fall boating at its best. Campfires and sunsets make great memories.

All the spooks and Goblins will be gathering Sat. Night Oct 29 in Hookers. There will be a costume contest, a Bonfire, a hay ride, and a street dance around the bonfire. Live band and entertainment by the Fabulous Two-Man Band! & enough Rattlesnake venom to make it to dawn when the vampires arrive! It is bound to be a zany night of devilish fun at Hookers. We all get to be kids again and play pranks! 

Another exciting round of Big 12 football this weekend. The football alphabet soup is beginning to spell out a few things, and some are not good. OU is struggling and needs a win badly. OSU is appearing to be in a strong position to win the Big 12. But they do have really tough games ahead. Especially TCU at home this weekend. Then Texas. Talk about a one, two, punch!

The Kansas Jayhawks lost to TCU this weekend. But they played gallantly and were in it till the last down. What they did prove, they are not just a Cinderella team that got lucky. They are a real football team, and they can play! I hated to see them lose, but we will hear more from them before this season is over!   Kansas State is on top of the Big 12 for now. They also have the mighty one-two punch of TCU and Texas to get around. It will be entertaining each week, and there will be surprises. Stay tuned all day Sat at both Arrowhead and Cherokee for exciting Big 12 action. 

SATURDAY MORNING ALA CARTE BREAKFAST

Starting this Sat at Arrowhead, Ala carte breakfast is back served from 9 am to noon. We are going to crank up Sat. morning Ala carte Breakfast at AYC. Please come and support us. It’s for sure a member's service. This time of the year, we know it won’t produce great volume, but it is a Member enhancement we consider worthwhile.

As long as the weather holds up, the Cabana will stay open. Of course, it’s totally dependent on the weather, and may this beautiful Indian Summer continue!

SUSAN WRIGHT WILL CONTINUE PLAYING IN THE CYC MAIN DINING. 

Susan Wright will continue to play the baby grand and sing on Saturdays through the month of October. So keep showing up, and she will keep playing!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, an annual campaign to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer. And, once again, the Coves Ladies Golf Association is conducting a fundraiser to support this worthy cause. Since 2013, the CLGA has raised nearly $51,000 to support the Integris Grove Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Fund which uses the funds to ease the financial burden of cancer patients who live right here in the Grand Lake area. If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause, make your checks payable to the Integris Foundation Cancer Fund. Donations can be dropped off at The Coves Golf Club. 

The South Grand Lake Chamber of Commerce held their annual fundraiser tournament last Friday at The Coves Golf Club with 25 teams participating. The annual fundraiser tournament to benefit the Cleora School system will be held tomorrow. The Coves Golf Club will hold their annual Championship Dinner on October 29 at 6 p.m. in The Coves Dining Room. For more information, contact Marilyn Wilson at 918-260-7842.
