Bishop Guy Erwin joyfully announces the appointment of Pastor Brenda Bos as his Assistant for Rostered Leadership. Pastor Brenda begins in a part-time capacity November 13, joining the synod staff on a full-time basis on December 2, 2019. She takes on the responsibilities carried by Pastor Reg Schultz-Akerson as he moves into retirement. 

Pastor Brenda is returning to the Southwest California Synod after serving Christ, San Clemente for over five years and as an assistant to Bishop Andy Taylor in Pacifica Synod. Pastor Brenda led her congregation to become advocates for people experiencing homelessness in South Orange County, to care for people experiencing memory loss, and to welcome LGBTQ+ people into their congregation. She has been active in planning and producing synod assemblies in both Pacifica and Southwest California. Pastor Brenda was the first vicar at St. Paul's, Santa Monica and was sponsored in candidacy by her home congregation, St. Matthew's, North Hollywood. 

Pastor Brenda lives in Altadena, California with her wife Janis and their adult son.
