I’m talking about those people who you could absolutely rely on, regardless of the situation. The people who knew you better than you knew yourself. The sort of people who would leave their own birthday party to come and help you change your flat tire on the side of a busy road in the middle of Arizona. How many really good friends have you had in your life?

That number is different for everyone, but there is one thing I am convinced of: we all need relationships like those. Regardless of what sort of personality we have, we were created to live connected lives.

It shouldn’t surprise us, though. After all, some of the first words God gives to God’s people in the Old Testament were “I will be your god, and you will be my people” (Exodus 6:7). God declares that humanity will live in relationship with...

Bible Blast Sunday for Third and Fourth Graders and Parents
We're excited to welcome caregivers and their children to our annual Bible Blast this Sunday, August 26 . Every year, we gift brand new children's Bibles to third graders (and any fourth graders who didn't get one last year), and invite them and their caregivers to a Bible Blast, where they learn how to explore their new treasures. What an amazing opportunity we have to teach children about God's word and how they can apply it to their own lives!
Celebrate International Missions
Please join Guatemala Medical Mission and Costa Rica Mission team members for a celebration of PVUMC international missions and its international mission partners in Guatemala and Costa Rica -- Salud y Paz and Hogar Metodista. The luncheon and celebration on Sunday, September 9 at 12:30 pm in the Fellowship Center will feature a Latin-inspired meal of pulled pork, rice and beans, salad, and dessert and a special guest from Hogar Metodista, Costa Rica. 9/11 Multi-Faith Food Drive
The Islamic Speakers Bureau of Arizona (ISBA) and partnering organizations, including PVUMC, are organizing a multi-faith food drive for the 7th consecutive year. This event has demonstrated that the same spirit that drove the first responders and others to care for complete strangers on 9/11, is still alive by uniting people of all faiths to provide food for the most needy in our communities. Please donate on September 2 and on September 9.
You're Invited to Civic Academy and Meet the Candidates Events
On Tuesday, September 11 , VIP (Valley Interfaith Project) invites you to a Civic Academy to learn more about the Invest in Education ballot measure.
