Psalm 37:40a – “The Lord helps them and rescues them” (NRSV).

“Act Now. Do Not Delay!”

Last week we spoke to the previous verse, Ps. 37:39 in which God saves us from ourselves by transforming us the forever time and place called eternity.

The fact is: eternity begins now. We don’t need to wait until we die or for the long-awaited paradise of the Second Coming. The new life in Christ is already secured and availed to us. There’s no waiting for the total transformation of our hearts & souls!

When we choose God’s love now, our participation in that new, holy, eternal life is longer, than if we delay saying, “Yes” to Jesus.

Say, “Yes!” to Jesus.

Diving In- Discovering God's Promises in New Waters

Water has so many wonderful gifts- in it we find life and healing and even joy and play, but we can't experience it if we just stand on the edge. The same is true for us to most fully discover the promises that God has for us. Imagine what God can do when we dive in with our full selves to experience the gifts that God has offered to us. Join us for the month of July as we dive into new waters together!

Grove’s next Good Works workday is Saturday, July 8, and we expect this to be our last day at Dorothy’s home. Saying goodbye to Dorothy and her family will be bittersweet because knowing them has been a lovely experience and we enjoyed our time together. When our work is done, we’ll hold a Dedication to read scripture, share stories, and pray together for God’s continued blessings on Dorothy and her family. For more information or to join us, contact Betty at goodworks@grovechurch.org.

Grove Youth alum reunion and picnic on Sunday, July 30th. A chance to see your friends from your years at Grove, sing great music, play games, and enjoy a picnic. Worship at 10:30, family-friendly picnic afterward. Keep in the loop with this form, even if you aren't sure or can't attend. All alumni, families, parents, friends, and members of the Grove congregation are welcome. Tell your friends!

Can you imagine being in prison and being notified that one of your loved ones has died? Grief is tough enough to deal with, but doing so while incarcerated adds another level of difficulty. The Chaplain at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility periodically does death notifications for the people in his care and has asked for copies of a small, basic book on grief that he can supply. As part of Grove’s prison ministry, we have now provided him with 25 of these books, “Experiencing Grief” by H. Norman Wright. He has no budget to purchase these books and is grateful for our assistance in his ministry to those who are dealing with both grief and incarceration. Thank you!

If you know anyone else that may be interested, please forward this slide deck or have them Sign-up here.

Safe Harbor Lunches – Grove Church via the Nurture Team has been providing lunches for Safe Harbor since August 2020. As of July 2023 Grove will have reached a milestone in serving 2000 bagged lunches to our friends at Safe Harbor. Grove Members have really stepped up in this endeavor, and we hope to get more Grover’s involved. It’s easy to do and fun, get family members together to help, or a group of friends, or just one or two people. It’s our way to support some needs of our community.

We have our dates filled for July and August, but not to worry we will get more dates for September and October. Thank you all for your participation and we look forward to continuing this outreach as long as the need exists.

If you have questions, please get in touch with Judy Wadsworth via email, who is the lead on this outreach for our Nurture Team.
