Did you know that Realm offers several convenient ways to manage your giving to the church?
By logging into your Realm profile, you can review your giving history, manage your personal information, and even submit your annual pledge online. Making a pledge through Realm is a simple and secure way to let me know your intended financial commitment for the coming year—and it helps the finance team plan responsibly as we prepare the church’s annual budget.
To make a pledge, simply log into your Realm account and navigate to the Giving section. At the top left hand side, you’ll see a Pledge Button. Click that, and Realm will open another screen where you can fill out the amount and frequency of your 2027 pledge.
While there take a moment to explore your profile. Realm provides an easy way to keep your contact information current, review past contributions, and manage your giving all in one place.
Of course, online pledging is simply another option. If you prefer to submit a traditional pledge card or contact me at the church office directly, you are always welcome to do so.
However you choose to pledge, thank you for your generosity and for the many ways you support the life and ministry of our church.
Kindly,
Nathan Anderson
Church Business Administrator

We are needed . . . to care for one another.
Stewardship is about much more than funding a church budget. It is about participating in a shared ministry whose reach extends farther than any one of us could accomplish alone.
“Where do I see God at work through this congregation…
and how am I being invited to take my place in that work?”

Men's Retreat
October 23–24 (Fri.–Sat.) | Eagle Eyrie Conference Center
| |
Today’s culture seems to be all about maxxing. Social influencers tell us to be all about “looksmaxxing.” Our politicians seem to be more and more interested in “vicemaxxing.” All the while, the rest of us just experience more and more “sadmaxxing” as loneliness increases and happiness decreases.
This fall, the men of 2PC will gather to confront these challenges by “virtuesmaxxing” at Eagle Eyrie on October 23 and 24. Carter Brothers will lead the charge while looking at the Christian virtues highlighted in Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and how his story about wizards, hobbits, and elves (oh my!) can teach us how to be more fully human in the 21st Century. We will worship together, feast together, laugh together and, of course, fellowship together!
Register by Wednesday, October 14.

Phishing Scams Disguised as Party Invitations Target Email Accounts
Asked to enter your email address and password to open a party invite? That’s a scam.
Earlier this summer, the FTC issued a consumer alert regarding increased reports of this type of phishing scam. Sent by email or text message, fake invites often impersonate real invitations delivered via legitimate online invitation platforms like Evite, Punchbowl, and Paperless Post.
Scammers attempt to gain access to your email account where they can send similar fake invites to your entire contact list and potentially gain other personal information like banking details. Because of this, emails can be sent from the real email addresses of people you may know.

Pathways enrollment has grown by more than 20%, while the food pantry is experiencing unprecedented need from families across our community. Thank you, members of Second Presbyterian, for 59 years of volunteers, financial support, leadership, and prayers. This October, PCC is grateful for our continued partnership and commitment to helping meet the growing needs of our neighbors through this month’s Outreach Offering.
September's Outreach Offering benefitted Feeding Southwest Virginia. The monthly total came to $5,005.
