What a joy it is to be welcomed to Trinity! I'm glad to have the chance to say thank you once more for the prayers you have prayed for me and the support you have given me as I've begun to settle into our church family. It's a privilege to become a part of it, and as I've begun to get to know you, I find myself inspired by your stories and passions. I am grateful and amazed to find that I've somehow, over the last week and a half, become even more excited than I already was about what is in store for us in ministry together. Thank you!
It was a particular delight to share a bit about myself in worship on Sunday and to have the chance to meet many of you at the lunch afterwards. And even though there isn't a meal scheduled this coming Sunday, I hope you'll keep introducing yourself to me and sharing your stories. I may be a bit slow with some names, but am eager to get to know you.
And speaking of Sunday worship, this coming one will return us to our regularly scheduled worship series... but, of course there's nothing "regular" about the stories of Elijah and Elisha. Week two of
Once Upon a Time in Israel: Kings, Dreams, and Schemes will take us to the "Showdown at Mount Carmel." I'm excited to have the opportunity to share with you again as we consider Elijah's exorbitant confrontation with hundreds of Baal prophets. I hope to see you there.
