As I write to you, Catherine and I are in flight to State College, Pennsylvania for the weekend. We look forward to spending time with our daughter Shelby and her husband Mike on the Penn State campus, where we will all be celebrating the marriage of Mike's sister, Mallory, to her beau, John. The ever-widening sense of family is a great joy for us. We also look forward to a visit with longtime Trinity members Bobbi and Jim Korner, who have spent the last 12 years at Penn State and are retiring and coming back to Gainesville! I know many of you will join us in enthusiastically saying "Welcome Home" to them soon.
While we are away, we are grateful to David Leonard for preaching and celebrating communion this weekend in worship. His leadership is always a blessing and I know you'll want to hear what he has to share on Sunday.
I also want to tell you about a special opportunity for you this Sunday evening. Recently, our youth have been sharing in occasional evening worship experiences called Illuminate. They want you to be able to experience one with them this Sunday night at 5:45pm in the Worship Center. The experience will include music, scripture, and various prayer stations. Refreshments will also be provided. I think you'll be inspired by what our youth have to offer and they would love to be blessed by your presence.
Looking ahead, mark your calendars for July 7. Ben Richards will be with us for his first Sunday as one of Trinity's pastors and will preach that morning at both 9:30 and 11. Everyone is invited to stay for lunch after the second service. Reservations are not required, but you can help us with food preparation by letting us know you're coming. Just send an email to Amy Tackett with the number of adults and children in your party.
Several of you have mentioned that you would like to share my Father's Day message from last week with friends or family members. You can find the video here.
