Be sure to be a part this weekend as we celebrate being "On Mission Together." This Saturday morning, May 18, Trinity will spread out to serve our community and show our big-heartedness. We'll be working with Habitat for Humanity, Food4Kids Backpack Program, Talbot Elementary School, Rawlings Elementary School, and Faith Mission as well as a food packing event with Called to Action in the Trinity Worship Center in the late afternoon.
If you haven't yet signed up to be a part of one of those ways to serve our community together, please click here for options. Some of these are great opportunities to involve your kids and serve together as a family. And be sure to wear your Trinity t-shirts with the new Trinity logo. If you don't have one stop by the bookstore to pick up one!
On Sunday, we'll have ONE worship service all together at 10:00 a.m. We had such a great response to our one service on St. Patrick's Day, that we wanted to do it again this Sunday. Music will be offered by Sonlight, the combined Adult Choir and the worship band. And I'll be preaching about Lydia. Her story about becoming a follower of Christ is a powerful one and has much to say to us about how to follow the Spirit as we develop relationships and share the good news of Christ.
We will also be celebrating Jan Banks and her nine years serving as the Director of Stepping Stones. Jan will be retiring next week at the end of the school year. We hope that many of you who have had children in Stepping Stones in recent years will be there in worship as Jan leads a special Children's Chat and we give thanks for Jan's ministry as a part of Trinity. All children, preschool through 5th grade, are invited to be in worship for the opening music and Children's Chat. Then parents of preschoolers may walk their children to Sunday school and our Children's Ministry adult team will escort the elementary-age kids to work on a mission project for Rawlings Elementary School.
After worship, we'll continue to celebrate with a picnic on the grounds, complete with food trucks. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets or sit at the picnic and other tables provided. We'll block off the road in front of the worship center and let the kids run. Lunch from the food trucks is available for purchase and dessert will be provided in honor of Jan and her tremendous and valued ministry.
It'll be a big day and weekend, so don't miss out and invite a friend! What a great way to celebrate being "On Mission Together" as we serve our community and worship together!
Grace and Peace,
P.S. Remember our summer worship schedule: two services on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. (not 9:40) and 11:00 a.m. beginning in June.
