Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant, members of His flock, of which Jesus is the Shepherd (John 10:16), Jesus being the first to preach His gift of repentance (Matthew 4:17), now calling on each of us also to preach repentance (Luke 24:47).
The Risen Christ knocks on the door of our hearts, asking if He can come in and dine with us. He provides His Comfort of the Holy Spirit as well as His Conviction of the Holy Spirit. He calls us to be zealous to repent, so that we can remove old sin strongholds and become, on His Narrow Path, Blazed by God, overcomers, sitting with Him on His Thorne as He now sits with His Abba Father. (Revelation 3:19-22).
Psalm 37: 23 and Proverbs 3:16 speak to you and me today. Here is Proverbs 3:16: " For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again, But the wicked stumble in time of disaster and collapse."
Righteousness comes through becoming His disciple (Matthew 28:19,20), beginning with sincere repentance of not having earlier placed Him first in one's life, and then repenting regularly, cleansing from the old man sin patterns, into the direction of becoming His Bride (Ephesians 5:27).
Psalm 37:23 is also so applicable for me and you today. It's directly tied to daily use of His Gift of repentance. I have to listen to Him many times a day for His Wisdom. When I miss the mark He again lifts me up----seven times a day if necessary!
Here is the Contemporary English Version of Psalm 37:23:
If you do what the Lord wants,
he will make certain each step you take is sure.
Here is the Amplified version:
The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the Lord, And He delights in his way [and blesses his path].
And here is Psalm 37:23 in the Message version: his path blazed by God, he’s happy.
If he stumbles, he’s not down for long; God has a grip on his hand.
That Truth applies to each one of us!
Please join me in this prayer: " Dear Jesus, I hear Your knock on the door of my mind and heart. Thank You Almighty God, for seeking me. I open the door of my mind and my heart to You, the Risen Christ. Please come in and dine with me, taking time to show me where I need to remove old sin patterns. I want to confess those. I ask You to help me remove them. Please forgive me of those sins. I want to obey You. I want Your Word to be the Lamp to my feet. I need your ongoing Wisdom day by day to stay on Your path towards Your holiness. I want my s teps to be directed and established by You. Thank You for Your grip on me; I want to be on a path You have chosen for me, blazed by You. When I stumble, please help me to get back on the path. In Jesus' Holy Name, Amen and Amen. "
