Dr. Pollio's Legacy:

More Students Ready for What's Next

As this school year comes to a close—and with it, Dr. Marty Pollio’s remarkable tenure as JCPS superintendent—we’re celebrating a milestone that speaks volumes about his impact.

More JCPS students than ever are graduating ready for the next step.

In Dr. Pollio's own words:

“For me, it’s more about 2,500 more kids every single year being post-secondary ready with access to a better life, whether it’s college or career once they leave JCPS, and I think that’s the heartbeat of it.”

Dr. Marty Pollio made his annual rounds, hand-delivering more than $75,000 in Community Scholarships to five outstanding seniors. Three of this year's recipients are from immigrant families, and all five will be the first in their families to attend college.

And special congratulations to our three Academies of Louisville scholars: Jessica from Marion C. Moore, Sebastian from Waggener, and Cordaisha from PRP.

Ruby says, "I am really looking forward to meeting other students from around the country who are passionate about STEM and helping their communities! Getting to take classes at MIT for 6-weeks over the summer is a dream, and I am so thankful that my Atherton teachers prepared me for the courses at MITES and wrote recommendations for me."
