Meet Our Team
Ellen Stone joined the Pathways to Growth team as a writer, reviewer and researcher in April 2018. She has dedicated over 15 years to serving nonprofits in many capacities, including grant writing, capacity building, and fundraising.

Referring to her clients, Ellen states "I enjoy hearing the impact stories from each organization. Every organization has a slightly different way of telling their story – numbers, quotes, testimonials, or stories about changes in their community or the lives of their clients. I love hearing those stories as I work with the staff members at each organization and incorporating them into the grant statement of need, proposal, or cover letter."

Ellen loves to cook and has recently been exploring recipes from the Philippines and Thailand. She also enjoys things that keep her hands busy, like sewing, knitting, and crocheting.
Planet Philanthropy
Our President Jule' Colvin and Nonprofit Management and Grants Specialist Chrissy Bond will present "How to Swim with the Sharks" at the Association of Fundraising Professional's Planet Philanthropy. This interactive workshop will help nonprofits understand how to relate to funders and how to increase their chances of grant wins.

Planet Philanthropy attracts fundraisers from all over the country and Puerto Rico. On average, over 400 nonprofit leaders from various organizations ranging from social services, education, health, religious, and the arts will attend to learn about the latest and greatest resources to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Welcome to the P2G Family
After 38 years of providing safe shelter to homeless mothers with young children in Hillsborough County, Alpha House of Tampa, now Dawning Family Services, is significantly stepping up efforts to serve the critical need that exists in our community to provide housing stability for all disenfranchised families. That involves: 1) increasing the number of their emergency shelter units from 39 to 60; 2) expanding the homeless population they serve to include a broader range of family types; and 3) launching a new prevention program to provide basic needs and essential supports, such as health care, food, and income supports, to families at high risk of becoming homeless.
Catch Up With Us
Grant writing is hard work. The last thing you want is for your work to be wasted! Here are some of the most common grant writing mistakes to watch out for, and rules to help you avoid them in your grant writing.
How will you measure the successful progress and outcomes of your program? When funders ask this question, their goal is to learn what data you use to determine success and how you gather that data. Part 4 of our blog series discusses this vital issue.
