Positively Speaking: Patricia's Perspective

7 Ways to Give and Receive Joy at the Holidays

Write something special for your family
Make up a jingle, poem or letter to your children, grandchildren and close relatives that celebrate your holiday and celebrates them.

Make a list of intangible gifts you can give to others
The intangibles are positive intrinsic qualities that are your natural gifts. For example, qualities could be kindness, compassion, and generosity.

Do Kind Deeds
You can create miracles in the lives of others by finding ways to help. It could be through a note, hand made gift, doing a chore for them, or just give them your listening ear.

Practice self-care during this busy time
Take out time to exercise, learn something new or practice a new skill, and do something that brings you personal joy. When your cup of joy is filled, it’s so much easier to bring joy to others

Give thanks for your blessings in 2022
for your 2022 blessings. Take stock of the good things in your life; family, friends, co-workers your home your health relationships, finances and your own spiritual growth.

Stay in touch
with those you care for with those you love. Call, e-mail or send a note to those you love at least once a week. Take advantage of the special moments you have with them.

Look for everyday miracles
Take note of those kindnesses from strangers as well as loved ones. Take in the hugs and "I love you's" from your child, spouse and friends.
