The book is based on the Oberammergau community in Germany where, every 10 years, The Passion Play is performed, with all actors from the community. Her book's revision anticipates Passion Play 2020, the next time the play will be performed, and people will travel from throughout the world to this part of Germany. Hilary Salk is a graduate of Brown University, earned a masters on English from Brown and MSW from RI College.
