Adapting Your Business During COVID

There have been many changes and adaptations in business during COVID and this continues with the recent emergence of the Delta Variant.

SHRM, the world’s largest professional society dedicated to serving human resource professionals, published the article in shrm.org, “Small Businesses Get Creative to Survive During the Pandemic.” Written by Kathy Gurchiek, online writer/editor for SHRM,
the article profiles several companies who have incorporated innovations during COVID.
These include:
  • Keeping employees safe as they work in the field
  • Adopting new technology processes including video conference meetings and events
  • Live website chats
  • Virtual team-building activities
  • Breakout room features on videoconferencing platformsBringing [artificial intelligence] to customer service via chatbots 
  • Asking employees to learn new skills to support changes to the business models.
  • Step-by-step tutorials and troubleshooting to have access to the information at all times
  • Tele-selling, a sales process which involves presentations, applications and approvals handled by phone
  • Offering more flexibility for staff who work at home to manage their own time and re-create work/life balance. 
These strategies have improved productivity and quality of work and they exemplify connection and support.
