Students Selected to Represent KDS at the 129th Continental Congress
KDS DAR School is pleased to announce Mikiah Muñoz and Nick Hardin as its 2020 Continental Congress Representatives. Following a rigorous selection process, Mikiah and Nick, KDS juniors, were chosen to represent the school during the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution’s 129 th annual Continental Congress in Washington, D.C., this June.

KDS Birthday Annual Fund Challenge
On February 26 th , Kate Duncan Smith DAR School will mark its 96 th birthday, and we invite you to help us celebrate this milestone!

Patriot Scholars
Have a Successful Season
The KDS DAR Patriot Scholars' Bowl team won the Marshall County Scholars' Bowl Tournament on January 15 and remains undefeated in the series.

Honor Band
Congratulations to KDS senior Elijah Manley and freshmen Leanne Saint, Katelyn Dunnaway, and Alex Wrenn on being named to the All-District II Honor Band at Gadsden City High School. These students were put through a rigorous audition process before being chosen to perform. Way to go Patriots!
Patriots Spell Their Way to Success
Third-grader Reece Schrimsher recently represented KDS at the 2020 Marshall County Spelling Bee after earning the top spot in the KDS Elementary Bee. Reece competed against sixteen other students from throughout Marshall County and made it through four rounds before being eliminated. Reece was the only 3 rd grader participating in the competition which was open to 3 rd through 8 th grade students.
