KDS DAR School was honored to take part in the 127th Continental Congress of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Washington, D.C. June 18-25. KDS Executive Director Heather Green; Development Director Beth Cagle; Board Chairman Cheryl Harrison; KDS Alumna Taylor Corbin; and student representatives Brayden Lewis and Bailee Chandler enjoyed a busy week of meeting with Daughters from across the country and throughout the world to share with them the story of KDS, the "Gem of Gunter Mountain."
KDS was pleased to once again receive support through a generous contribution by the Friends of DAR Schools Fund during the Friday afternoon DAR School Luncheon. National School Chair Peggy Troxell made the presentation following the reports of the KDS DAR School student representatives.
Free time is always scarce during Continental Congress, but the KDS delegation did have the opportunity to have a little fun and visit several of our country's top attractions including the Smithsonian National Museum of American History; the National Gallery of Art; the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum; and the numerous memorials and monuments along the National Mall.
