Dedication Day 2021

Dedication Day 2021 festivities for the Kate Duncan Smith DAR School are scheduled for October 21^st and 22^nd. Anticipation is high as plans are made to welcome DAR members from across the country to dedicate gifts from the previous year. Thursday activities planned include campus tours, a commemoration of the 50^th anniversary of the Seimes Thomas Building, visits to the Agri-Science and Family and Consumer Sciences departments, middle school robotics demonstrations, a craft show, and an evening of food and fellowship at the host hotel. Friday will be the official Dedication Day program and the Famous Basket Lunch.

Please make plans to be with the students and staff of KDS on this special day! The Schedule of Events is packed full of activities and happenings, and everyone is invited. If you plan to be with us for one or more of the events, please complete the attached registration form and submit it as soon as possible.

KDS Students Raise the Freedom Flag

The Freedom Flag Foundation’s National Freedom Flag and World Trade Center Steel Education Program invited Kate Duncan Smith DAR School to serve as Alabama’s first school to display the Freedom Flag and present an educational program about the events of September 11, 2001.

KDS DAR School High School PatriotVision students prepared a moving tribute for the 20th Anniversary of 9/11. It included a historical overview and the explanation of the flag’s ten elements. KDS Alumni Homecoming Festivities

Celebrate being a KDS DAR School Patriot with a parade, see the court crowned, and cheer on the Patriots during Homecoming 2021! Join classmates for a tailgate and football game at Patriot Stadium to celebrate the accomplishments, memories, and friendships made during your time at “Dear Old KDS”!

Thursday, September 30^th

4:00 p.m. Homecoming Parade

Friday, October 1^st (Patriot Stadium)

Registration is not required.

5:30 p.m. Big Blue Tailgate: Light refreshments will be provided. .

Giving the Gift of Education

One of the greatest gifts to give a student is the opportunity to further his or her education. Currently, there are more than 200 KDS DAR School graduates attending college and/or technical school with the assistance of a KDS DAR School Scholarship. Did you know these students can request a renewal of their scholarship after two years of college?? It’s true, but it’s only possible if funds are available. Help these hard-working graduates complete their educations by making a gift to the KDS Scholarship Fund today!

Homecoming 2021

Please join us at KDS DAR Patriot Stadium for Homecoming 2021 festivities Friday, October 1^st. The Homecoming Court will be presented at 6:30 p.m. with the football game against John Paul II High School beginning at 7:00.
