HP-PTSA Grant Spotlight: Tripods and Bird Feeder Cam

This grant application was submitted by Mr. Scott Padway, Media/Computer Science Teacher at Harvest Park

"The Birdfeeder webcam will allow us to see what birds come visit the garden and share that information with the school community in various segments in HPTV. The tripods will replace our current tripods which are missing pieces and broken, but it is important for us to have tools for all students in Media to produce quality videos."

HP-PTSA Grant Spotlight: Raspberry PI and Kittenbots

This grant application was submitted by Mr. Scott Padway, Media/Computer Science Teacher at Harvest Park

Students have created games utilizing MIT's Scratch, and several students would like to make an arcade machine prototype utilizing their games, raspberry pi's and the controllers. The Kittenbots would provide some additional opportunities for students to explore game development utilizing Microsofts Make Code Arcade. It would provide them a hand held component to upload their game to and allow them a chance to play it.

HP-PTSA approved both grants and the requested materials were delivered to the students recently. Students wrote a note thanking the PTSA(see below). These initiatives are funded by the PTSA, thanks to your generous contributions. We hope you will continue to support us. Whenever you donate to the PTSA, always remember to apply for a corporate match, if your company matches donations to non-profit organizations. All donations to the PTSA are tax exempt.

The Nest (@HPMS) is looking to collect books for students to be able to access during Wednesday Reading Zone (lunch periods). If you have used books that are in good condition that are appropriate for middle school, please consider donating books that you are no longer reading.

Please bring them to the Counseling Office or Front Office.

Thank you so much!
