Harvest Park PTSA Grant Spotlight - School Ball Room

Harvest Park PTSA welcomed grant applications from interested teachers, students, clubs, staff, certificated and classified employees, and HP PTSA members for the 2023-24 school year. All submitted proposals enhance and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment at Harvest Park.

In this issue, we are highlighting a proposal from Greg Dankwardt for improving the school ballroom.

"The Ball Room is used daily during both lunches. Students engage in a variety of activities from it, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, Spikeball, and 4 -square. This outlet is vital for maintaining safe and spread out lunch periods."

HP PTSA approved a grant for the ballroom and the new equipment is available to all students during lunch times. Leadership Ball Monitors help Yard Supervisor Dennis check out and maintain the equipment.

Such initiatives are only possible thanks to parent donations. We hope that you will make a contribution to the Harvest Park PTSA this holiday season. All contributions are tax deductible.

You can even double your contribution if your company matches donations to non-profit organizations.

Volunteering Opportunity at Harvest Park

HPMS art classroom (E-39) has a room with a kiln that is cluttered with miscellaneous things. It needs to be cleared out so that kiln can be safely used -- organize supplies into labeled boxes, throw away any trash or anything that may be broken.

  • Time: Any weekday during the 1st period (M, T, Th, Fri: 8:50 AM - 9:45 AM OR Wed: 8 AM - 10 AM) We would like this to be done as soon as possible, as we need to use the kiln for art projects.
  • Volunteers need to have Level 2 Clearance
  • Up to 5 volunteers per cleaning would be helpful
  • Please reach out to tcarino@pleasantonusd.net if you can help or have questions

PE Clothing

A number of parents had reached out to us regarding the purchase of additional PE clothing. PE clothes are available for sale throughout the year ( cash or check only). Please check with your child's PE teacher for the purchase. For sizes, refer to the PE Department website.

Also if your child has lost some PE clothes, please check the Lost and Found buckets in the locker room.

Seeking Donation for Middle School Books

The Nest (@HPMS) is looking to collect books for students to be able to access during Wednesday Reading Zone (lunch periods). If you have used books that are in good condition that are appropriate for middle school, please consider donating books that you are no longer reading.

Please bring them to the Counseling Office or Front Office.

Thank you so much!
