“So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.”
Romans 14:19

Dear Brother Pastors,

Paul presents a sincere call to action with these words. One way this mutual upbuilding might be accomplished is through devotions written by our pastors throughout the district.

Please view my invitation to participate in writing a devotion which will be shared weekly through social media, on the district’s websites and in the Parish Resource Connection. Your prayerfully written applications of God’s Word have the ability to build up the body of believers.
Since you regularly prepare sermons, preparing a devotion will not be a daunting task. Rather, the prayer is that you consider it a joy to participate. Here are the guidelines:
  • Please do not quote copyrighted material without the express permission of the owner to do so.
  • The district president serves as the editor for the devotions.
  • Please submit written devotions to sue.green@nidlcms.org for organization and good order. She will keep track of incoming and outgoing devotions so the editor does not have to do that.
  • There is a 300 word maximum.
  • Devotions shall be for the assurance, encouragement and upbuilding of God’s people.

The Lord be with you.
Your friend, brother and partner in the Lord's ministry,

Rev. Dan Gilbert, President
