P A U S E
"In English, peace means the absence of war, freedom from disturbance, calm, tranquility, [and] restfulness.... In Hebrew, shalom means more.... It means completeness, perfection, the harmonious working of a complex system, integrated diversity a state in which everything is in its proper place and all is at one with the physical and ethical laws governing the universe."

- Rabbi Jonathan Sacks

P O N D E R

What does peace (or shalom) mean to you? Rabbi Sacks says it's the "harmonious coexistence of otherwise conflicting individuals and tribes...Shalom is... not uniformity but integrated diversity." How can you bring this about today?
  P R A Y
