"Joyce Maguire Pavao was the first therapist I ever talked with who understood adoption. I was sitting at a picnic bench in a park in San Jose and I had this incredible feeling of being seen and understood in ways I hadn’t known were possible. It was like, finally, I had someone with a lantern ten steps ahead of me on the path of life. A smart someone. A Harvard-educated someone. An adopted someone.
This is a strange time, and, while many people often struggle with transitions and change, these events can be particularly trying for adoptees.
If you have a therapist but don’t feel truly seen or supported, or if you think it might be time to try one, I can’t recommend Dr. Pavao highly enough. Her practice is in the Cambridge area, but these days it’s all about phone and computer.

I am doing a great deal of Distance Consulting and Coaching.
Yes, I am available Nationally and Internationally for Consulting
and Coaching and Keynotes/Training.
Distance Supervision is also a much-needed service.
(I am an Approved Supervisor for AAMFT).
There are not many adoption and trauma competent supervisors around,
but I have so many years of experience, and have developed models for treatment, training, and supervision.
We have one or two openings for distance cases at this time.
For more information on distance supervision openings,
please reach out to Dr. Pavao at: kinnect@gmail.com
