Properly engineered pavement improvements can extend the life of paved surfaces and minimize overall maintenance and repair costs. Whitestone Associates, Inc. develops site-specific investigations designed to assess the service life expectancy of heavy-duty and light-duty pavements and provide recommendations for repair, overlay, or replacement. These investigations typically include a visual evaluation and mapping of the pavement surface, determining pavement section thickness, and evaluating the supporting subgrade soils. The data collected are evaluated per American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) methods.
More complex forensic investigations or litigation support may warrant detailed asphalt composition analyses, surface and subsurface drainage evaluation, and/or expert testimony.
