Dear Members: We are once again in the position to call on our members to assist with getting our Fest Platz back in order after flood waters nearly reached the rafters of the pavilion. The Trustees and Officers met to prepare a plan for clean up.
Please Note: We are asking that Club members refrain from going to the pavilion in search of trying to help until we have organized work parties. We will have heavy equipment in to move displaced stone on Wed. & Thurs., 7/2 & 7/3. We do not want anyone in the area that could hinder that progress.
We will honor the 4th of July holiday by not working on the clean up that day. We will have our 145th anniversary celebration in the clubhouse from 11-2pm as planned. Please come out and toast your Club! Cleanup work parties will begin over the weekend.
We are looking for volunteers to help on Saturday & Sunday, 7/5 & 7/6, from 9:00am to 12:00pm. We are trying to limit the number of hours out of respect for the holiday weekend.
That said – many hands make light work! Come out on Saturday and/or Sunday to help with clean up. We won’t have a sign up. Just show up when you can and stay as long as you can.
We will need tools to assist us. See the list below and bring what you can. We will provide beverages but do not have plans for serving food at this time. We have limited access to water and good water pressure for cleaning floors and walls. We are looking for any member that has or has access to large water totes that can be used for pressure washing.
Tools needed:
- Rakes
- Snow shovels (for shoveling dry mud – Saturday)
- Power Washers
- Squeegees for clearing water
- Wheelbarrows
- Buckets
- Cleaning supplies
- Cleaning rags
- Work gloves
- Anything you think might be helpful
It is our intent to clean up the pavilion this weekend. We will tackle the creek bank and grounds the following weekend. Look for another email next week with details on work parties for that weekend.
It is always amazing when members come together in support of our Club. Please try to come out and participate in our cleanup efforts.
