Paving Way to the Future
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is looking at ways to improve traffic at the Exit 85 Interchange and along the SC 160 Corridor. If you're from around here (or not) you probably witness the daily struggle that is this stretch of road. Oh the humanity! #JimCarreyReference

SCDOT will host a public information meeting for the Exit 85 Interchange project on Thursday, January 30 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Real Life Church (1930 Pleasant Road, Fort Mill). This is a drop-in, informal meeting with an open house format and project team members will be available to answer project-related questions. If you can't make it to the meeting, information about the project can be found on the SCDOT website.

For regularly updated information about the project, please visit the
project website at www.SC160Project.com. #MakeIt10LaneS #StillNotEnough

Council Reconvenes
City offices will be closed on Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. It seems like it's been a while since our last City Council meeting, and in fact it has been six weeks since everyone got together. #wheredidthetimego

The drought ends this Monday, however, as council will meet for the first time in the new decade. We'll attend to some regular business, but the big item on the agenda is to welcome Gus Matchunis and Ryan Richard back for another four-year term. As you may recall both were re-elected last November. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 15077 Molokai Drive, with a small reception for the "new" council members following the meeting.

Flapjacks All-Around!

If you've ever watched professional bull riding (and who hasn't??) then you know they say riding a bull is the longest EIGHT seconds you could ever spend. Well, we have never ridden a bull #pleasedon'trythatathome and it's not quite the same adrenaline rush, but a polar plunge is probably the longest THREE seconds of your life.

Our awesome officers, defying the threat of frostbite, are going to endure that pain on purpose next month for this year's Polar Plunge at the Baxter Close YMCA on February 8. The goal is to raise $25,000 to benefit the  Special Olympics of South Carolina . There are almost 30,000 athletes involved in 26 different sports. One hundred percent of funds raised go towards training, clothing and transporting these athletes to over 400 competitions in South Carolina. Please consider participating in this incredible event! #PolarBearsMakeItLookEasy #MoreBodyMassEqualsMoreInsulation #IWasInThePool
