Work is starting soon on the Old Marion Road project, and we wanted to give you some information about what to anticipate.
Closure Starting Tomorrow
Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 23, Old Marion Road will be
to traffic between F Avenue and Cavalier St NE, for approximately three days. This closure is for unplanned, private sewer line repairs, and not associated with the Paving for Progress project.
June 29, City's Project Begins
The Paving for Progress project on Old Marion Road will start on Monday, June 29. Crews will begin the project with water main work. During this time, Old Marion Road between Regent Street and C Avenue will remain open to two narrow lanes of traffic. If your water service needs to be shut off temporarily during the water main work, you will be notified directly with a door tag, alerting you to the specific date/time of service interruption.
Later this summer, when pavement work gets underway, Old Marion Road will be fully closed for several weeks. During this time, only property owners or business patrons will be allowed to enter the work site to get to their homes or businesses. Other traffic not traveling to a destination on Old Marion Road will be required to detour.
Crews will work to keep your driveway open as much as possible, but short closures may be necessary when work is taking place directly in front of your home.
Property owners: Please continue to place your garbage and recycling bins out in their normal location; the contractor is responsible for making them accessible to our Solid Waste drivers, and for returning the bins to your property.
We will continue to send periodic updates as the project moves along. We appreciate in advance your patience! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to a member of our team. Our contact information is listed on the right-hand side.
