Forest Drive Update

The contractor continues to work on pavement patches and utility work between Mt. Vernon Road and 5th Avenue. They are working on one side at a time. Starting this week, crews also plan to begin removing pavement between 5th Avenue and Bever Avenue. Forest Drive will remain closed to thru-traffic; only local traffic (property owners) are permitted onto the work site.

The travel lane restrictions on Mt. Vernon Road will be restored to two lanes by the end of this week. The project is on schedule and everything is moving forward as anticipated.

Bever Avenue to Mount Vernon Road

Construction work on Memorial Drive will continue to progress over the next few weeks. Retaining walls are nearly complete between Bever Avenue and Meadowbrook Drive. Crews will continue to install sidewalk and curb ramps, and depending on weather and ground conditions, will begin to place sod. Between Meadowbrook Drive and Mount Vernon Road, crews will continue to work on storm sewer installation as well as begin pavement removal. Please look for door hangers notifying residents when they should begin parking on side streets to allow street reconstruction to begin.

Mt. Vernon Road to McCarthy Road

Work continues to move forward on this section of Memorial Drive. Curb removal and reconstruction will continue between Mt. Vernon Road and 14th Avenue. Elsewhere, sod installation will begin between 14th Avenue and McCarthy Road, pending weather and ground condition.
