The project on H Avenue / 16th Street NE is tentatively scheduled to begin on Monday, March 25, weather permitting. We wanted to provide an overview of what to anticipate this construction season.

Where Work is Taking Place: The construction work is taking place primarily on H Avenue, between 14th Street and 16th Street. Some sodding work will also take place south of F Avenue, but this will not occur until later this summer/fall and will not have a significant impact on the traveling public.

Traffic Impacts to Anticipate First:

The contractor will begin by removing pavement on H Avenue, which will require a full closure between 14th Street and 16th Street. Pouring the new pavement is tentatively scheduled to begin in April. This will be the primary traffic impact of the summer.

Following the completion of the pavement work, trail and sidewalk work will begin. The project will also include new bike lanes.
