Work continues to move forward, and O Avenue will soon re-open to two-way traffic. Work areas will remain barricaded off, and traffic lanes may shift or become temporarily restricted during remaining work, but we anticipate traffic flow to remain open over the course of the winter. Please drive cautiously through active work areas.
Work will continue on O Avenue for as long as weather allows. If weather or site conditions become unfavorable, work will be suspended for the winter. Travel lanes will be plowed as normal.
Below is a brief summary of segments that still have work underway:
- Remaining work between 16th Street and 20th Street is down to finishing touches such as placing permanent signs.
- Water main is completed between 20th Street and 24th Street, and new water services will soon be installed. After this work is completed, work will begin on storm sewer pipe and intakes.
- Installation of the box culvert will begin this week between 24th Street to 30th Street. If weather permits, work on this will continue through the winter, and the road will remain drivable, using temporary surfaces where necessary.
- Relocation of privately owned utilities west of 24th Street to Edgewood Road continues.
As always, if you have questions or concerns about the project, do not hesitate to contact a member of our project team. We appreciate your ongoing patience!
