Construction will begin soon on segments of Memorial Drive SE. We wanted to let you know what you can anticipate.
Memorial: Bever Ave to Mt. Vernon Road
Work in this segment is tentatively scheduled to begin
Monday, April 8. Starting April 8, Memorial Drive will be closed between Mt. Vernon Road to just north of Buchanan Drive. Access for residents will be maintained as long as possible, but on-street parking may need to be utilized.
The contractor will place a temporary rock base at driveways, so residents can still use them until new pavement is installed. Utility work will also begin between Meadowbrook Dr and Mt. Vernon Road. You will receive direct notification regarding any temporary water service interruptions.
Future work in this area will include completing the sidewalk, retaining walls, and sod restoration, hopefully by end of May.
Memorial: Mt. Vernon to McCarthy
Work in this segment is tentatively scheduled to begin
Monday, April 1, between Mt. Vernon Rd and Hertz Dr. The road will be closed to thru traffic during this time; residents who live directly on the project can still access their property.
The contractor will be working on driveways, as well as curb and gutter work, between 14th Avenue and Mt. Vernon Road, in preparation for asphalt work in this section.
You will be notified directly if your water service will be temporarily interrupted.
Future work includes a temporary closure of Memorial Drive at Mt. Vernon Road as work continues.
