Dog of the Month:
Meet Drew, an adorable pup who can't wait to go home with you!
Meet Drew
Meet Drew! A small and sweet four year old who recently came to the shelter as a surrender. Drew is an American Pitbull Terrier mix who enjoys taking leisurely strolls, playing fetch and can be good friends with other dogs. Drew's ideal home will be one that allows him to be a part of the family day and night, take him along for adventures and hep him make some new doggie friends.

Children over the age 10 would be the best fit for him. Drew knows most of his basic manners, walks beautifully on a leash and harness and cannot get enough of fetch! Please apply to come and meet him today!

Kitten Season has Sprung!
Spring has sprung and that means it's officially kitten season. At BHS we offer a variety of unique foster opportunities.

We are in need of fosters to help us care for our most vulnerable in the shelter - bottle babies and kittens.

Bottle babies have lost their mothers and need human intervention to survive.

How does it work? All you need to do is provide a temporary home, love, and commitment. All supplies and medical check ups are fully covered by BHS and our Clinic.
Have You Heard the News?
New Cat Reading Program

Butte Humane Society is about to turn the page on a new chapter in BHS history! New facility, new year, new programs to engage with our local community!

Shelter cats listen with perked ears (and zero judgement) for grades K-12 as they read to cats. New feline friends are all ears for young readers to expand their literacy skills by reading to cats. Reading to cats offers a unique and "pawsitive" socialization experience for both cats and kids.

Are you a retired educator who would be interested in helping young readers learn to love reading? Contact our Community Outreach and Event Coordinator Katie Valenzuela at k[email protected]
Volunteer Spotlight: Gisselle
By Kelly Laprezioso
Gisselle started volunteering with Butte Humane Society in November of 2021.In that short amount of time, she has become a staple volunteer, dedicating her time to our Veterinary Clinic and as a much needed Greeter at the front desk. She has also helped us with fundraising events. In her time with us, she has already earned 95 hours of volunteer time! We look forward to having Gisselle with us for years to come.

Helping Our Cause, Helps Our Paws!

Peer to Paw fundraising is about to take center stage. Show your support by raising a few paws with friends and family for Woofstock Chico.

Animals everywhere leave lasting imprints, or should we say paw prints, on our hearts. They impact our lives, and give us lasting memories that stay with us long after they are gone. They show us unconditional love and even make us laugh.
April kick starts our new peer to peer fundraising. Join a pack, or be a lone wolf that supports life saving work. Every dollar raised will directly help a paw in need. Register online today to be the humane hero cats and dogs depend on. By creating or joining a fundraising team you can win amazing prizes like VIP Access to the exclusive Hard Paw Cafe and other cool gadgets!

This year we are dreaming big. Our goal this year is to raise 50,000! We know we can get there with your support.
