Dog of the Month:
Say Hello to Cruz, a sweet senior dog full of love for everyone he meets!
Meet Cruz
Cruz is a 5 month old Chihuahua mix who came to the shelter as a stray. Cruz is ready for anything and loves to talk about all he's seen so far! This little guy has been in foster care for 3 weeks getting a head start on his manners and potty training.

He has bounced back from his eye surgery and is ready to find his forever family! Cruz would do well in most settings. Kids, dogs, cats will all be a great fit for him! We are looking forward to your applications!

All of our available dogs are micro-chipped, vaccinated, spay/neutered and on preventatives for flea & tick and heartworms. Please apply to meet Cruz today!

You know what we wish for the most? To give our animals the best quality of care during their stay with us, or course!

To help us reach this goal we need your help! Go online to shop our Chewy Withlist or our Amazon list.

Some top needed items are: Treat bags, Blue Wilderness Senior Dog Wet Food, leashes and collars, crates, treats treats treats (for training), poop bags, and enrichment toys to beat boredom.

Plus, Purina Pro Plan: wet kitten food for our Kitten Season fosters.

As you can imagine, animal shelters go through supplies pretty fast. That's why we need your support!
Volunteer Spotlight: Thank You Jolie!
Jolie began volunteering with Butte Humane Society in August of this year. In that time she jumped right in and has been incredibly helpful to staff and great with our animals. She volunteers with our cats and in our warehouse.

Jolie’s favorite area to volunteer is with our cats. She loves to sit quietly and patiently in the cattery and see who comes to her. She especially loves connecting with the shy cats, and gets a lot of joy when they allow her to interact with them.

This is a talent not all possess, and it allows our cats to acclimate and begin trusting again. A lot of joy comes to seeing the cats that were very timid go to loving homes, and knowing she played a part in that. HERE.

Thank you Jolie!
Sweet Success: Pudding
We adopted Pudding August 27th. Steve renamed her that day: Princess. We've called her Princess ever since and she knows her name. She's a GREAT PUPPY and will be a WONDERFUL DOG! Kathy Cangello is Princess's trainer and dog sitter. We have a 1&1/2 year old male cat named Tuffy. Princess is 5 months old. In an effort to help them become "family" with us & each other, we recently took them both to the coast for a vacation for a few days.

Training & Behavior Tips: Canine Equipment
Traditionally, all your dog ever needed to go for a walk was a collar and a leash. As owner awareness and modern dog training has developed many dogs and their owners benefit from other types of equipment coupled with training. Hopefully this article will shed some light on equipment options for your dog’s training, walking and hiking needs. The goal is always to have you and your pup have an enjoyable experience!

Volunteer at Disco InFURno!
We are looking for groovy cats and dogs to volunteer at our Disco InFURno gala event on October 23rd. Serve drinks, help set up, and manage check-in stations. All to support a worthy cause for shelter animals.

Volunteer today!
