100 Days of PTO-ing
Backstory, Current Story, and What’s to be Written
Our PTO was formed to facilitate collaboration between parents and teachers in support of the educational experience and well-being of students. The specific activities and functions of our PTO are as follows:
Fundraising: We often organize various fundraising events and initiatives to raise money for the school. These funds may be used to support school programs, purchase equipment and supplies, fund assemblies, or sponsor special events. Please consider purchasing tickets to the Yankees or Taste of Madison, both of which are upcoming fundraising opportunities for the PTO.
Community Building: We foster a sense of community among parents, teachers, students, and staff through social events, such as fall fest, the fall social, or our upcoming roller skating party. These events provide opportunities for families to connect and build relationships outside of the classroom setting.
Volunteer Coordination: The PTO recruits and coordinates parent volunteers to assist with various school activities and events. Volunteers may help with classroom activities, chaperone field trips, organize fundraisers, or provide support to teachers and staff as needed.
Advocacy: The PTO serves as advocates for students and parents within the school community.
Communication: The PTO maintains a website, newsletter, social media accounts, and other communication channels to keep families informed.
Educational Support: We provide additional support for educational initiatives and programs within the school. This includes funding for enrichment activities, guest speakers, educational materials, and special projects that enhance the learning experience for students.
Teacher Appreciation: We organize events and activities to show appreciation for teachers and staff, such as Teacher Appreciation Week celebrations, staff luncheons, or small tokens of gratitude throughout the school year.
Overall, we play a vital role in promoting collaboration, engagement, and support within the school community, ultimately contributing to the success and well-being of students. The treasured traditions of our school, like Field Day or Carnival, are PTO led and supported because we deeply care about the KRS community. This spring holds more fun and celebrations of kindness and growth, so please know there’s a place for you in the PTO.
Our spring social will soon be announced, and we’re excited to reveal our location for it! Hint: it’s a space brand new to Madison. We also have a plethora of fun awaiting the children with our steam fair, spring book fair, Meet the Masters Art Show, Field Day and Color Run, Reading Night, and Spring Carnival. Love blooms at KRS year round, but the seasonal spring fun is always highly anticipated.
