Parent Volunteers needed to help paint the new KRS Mural!

1/15-1/31

This week, our students had the opportunity to work with Caren Olmsted on the beautiful new outdoor mural. It was an incredible experience. Please consider signing up below to touch-up the mural. No artistic skills required. These touch ups sessions will occur without children. So grab some friends or your ear buds and we will take care of the paint brushes and soothing music. WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Get Ready…It’s almost time for the KRS GLOW PARTY!!

Friday January 27 from 4:30-6:30 pm at KRS

We are excited to announce that we have sold out of tickets for the KRS Glow Party! Wow!

You can still volunteer and donate for the party by clicking the links below.

KRS Trivia Night

We are so excited to be bringing back Trivia Night! A FREE and fun event for the entire family!

The competition begins on February 10th at 7 pm. Hope to see you there!

Troy Cummings Author Visit

Troy Cummings is coming to KRS on February 28th! Many thanks to the elementary school principals, the MEF and the PTO for funding this special opportunity. The KRS PTO and Ms. Thomas would like to offer our families the opportunity to pre-purchase a book to be signed by the one and only TROY CUMMINGS, himself, at his visit.

The books will be distributed on the day of the event. Troy will only have enough time to sign 1 book per child who ordered, however, you are welcome to order more books. We are happy to be working with The Bookworm in Bernardsville to bring these special books to KRS.

Tissue Boxes Needed

The 5th Grade Student Council is looking for donations of Cubed Tissue Boxes (as opposed to rectangular boxes). These cubed boxes will be decorated with pictures, knock-knock jokes, and fun facts. These fun-decorated tissue boxes will be donated to a local nursing home. Please bring these tissue boxes to your homeroom teacher by Wednesday 1/25.

Thank you to all parents who assisted our young artists as they made their mark on KRS history. The mural is coming together beautifully. We also extend our great thanks to Mr. Thompson and Miss Bihuniak for leading this effort and Village Hardware in Chatham for donating some of the paint. There are still plenty of volunteer opportunities available, please consider signing up above!

Did you know that our KRS school principal, Dr. Koop, sends out a newsletter every week? It's a great source of in-school information and reminders, as well as a snapshot of what happened during the week for our kids. Check it out below!
