KRS GARDEN PARENT VOLUNTEERS

As the spring season approaches, the Kings Road Garden is looking for parent volunteers. We are scheduling clean-up activities, adding new soil to the beds, planting, and hopefully some classroom activities. Anyone interested in helping out, please reach out to Chris Then at chrisjthen@gmail.com.

Calling all book returns!

ESPECIALLY the following popular loan requests:

  • Graphic Novels
  • Dog Man
  • Diary of a Wimpy Kid
  • Notebook of Doom
  • Diary of a Pug
  • The “Creepy…” picture books
  • The “No David…” picture books

These are just a sampling of frequently requested library books, so please look around your homes for books to bring back to our school library.

We are collecting Lego brick separators to add to our Lego collection in the library! If you have any extra laying around at home, please send them into school.

Library Volunteers are Welcome Back to KRS!

Please sign up to help during your child's Library class. Library Class Volunteers will scan books, reshelve books, and help in other ways needed by Mrs. Thomas.  There are three dates for each class beginning February 16 (note: there is no volunteering for the 2/28 B-Day due to the Author Visit). More opportunities will be added after Spring Break. Please see the sign-up genius for specific dates and times.

Additionally, please check your home for late library books to return to the school!

TASTE OF MADISON EVENT & FUNDRAISER

The Taste of Madison is a party for food lovers, a celebration of Madison as well as a fundraiser that benefits local non-profit initiatives.

Chefs from thirty of the area’s finest restaurants will serve samples of their best dishes. Gary's Wine & Marketplace will provide guests with fine wine, beer, and spirits. The Taste has a Silent Auction, Trick Tray and 50/50 Raffle. Tickets must be purchased in advance and guests must be at least 21 years old. The recommended attire is business casual.

"The Taste of Madison was established in 2002 as a fun, town-wide fundraiser that is a cure for the winter blues", stated organizers. In its previous nineteen editions, the Taste of Madison has raised more than $600,000 and entertained more than 8,000 guests.

Please consider buying your tickets though the KRS PTO. We will receive $20 for every ticket we sell! Please see the flyer below for more info.

Volunteer Love

Thank you to Ms. Thomas for putting together fun activities for Read Across America Week! And a special “thank you” to the elementary school principals, the MEF, and the PTO for funding our visit from Troy Cummings. We really hope your children enjoyed hearing from such a talented author!
