From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Break. It is hard to believe that we have started the second half of the school year.

Thank you to all of the parents who filled out the Parent Survey. We had over 150 responses. We appreciate the feedback. Information from the Parent Survey will be discussed at Tiger Talk on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 7 pm in the school gym. Tuition for the upcoming school year will also be shared. We hope you can join us!

Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences will be on Friday, February 15. We will have a 1/1:15 dismissal to allow time for conferences. Kidventure will be available after school. Babysitting will also be available during conferences.

Thank you for your continued support. If you have questions or concerns, there is a list of who to contact available on our school website. Click here to see this list.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings,

Dr. Kathleen Cox

VIRTUS has changed to SAFE HAVEN

As of January 4, 2019, VIRTUS training has been replaced with t he new Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Safe Environment Online Program, SAFE HAVEN: It's Up to You. The online training consists of a 3-part video series and will include a criminal background check. These online trainings are available in English and Spanish. The VIRTUS database will no longer be accessible.

Individuals with Previous VIRTUS training:

The 5-year anniversary date is still in place for refreshers. To complete Re-certification training as your 5-year anniversary date is met, please follow the steps below:

1. To access the CMGConnect website click on the link: https://GalvestonHouston.CMGConnect.org. We strongly recommend using Google Chrome as your web browser for optimal performance.

2. Choose Galveston-Houston Diocese - hit "Go"

3. Click on "Sign-In Here" box at the top right corner. You will need to log in using your previous VIRTUS user id or the email address on file and 1234 as the password. (Once you login, you can always change your password.) Please do NOT Register for a New Account. Once you have signed in, you will be able to view your certification expiration.

Individuals who have never taken VIRTUS, but wish to volunteer at St. Michael School:

Safe Haven online training is required in order to volunteer in any capacity (coaching parish sports, PLUS committee volunteers, i.e. read-a-story, art-a-la-carte, middle school dances, etc.),  Please refer to Steps 1 and 2 above, then Register for a New Account and follow the prompts.
