Oh, how I love the fall!
If you are like me, you anticipate seeing the splashes of color appear on the trees.
It fascinates me to see how some trees have just a few leaves that turn, while others seem to transitions to resplendent glory almost overnight.
These colorful displays seem to shout to the world that our God is real! Could this beauty have happened simply by chance?
For me the trees are almost like the voice of God whispering in my ear, “I am here.”
Our God also says, “I am here” through the splash of water and His Word in baptism. God is real in that splash and in those Words…
I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
When it comes to God’s Grace, it is really not just a splash. The grace that comes in the forgiveness that is ours is really more like the soaking, torrential rains that we have experienced over these past few days.
We are completely drenched to the bone in grace. Why? Well, first our God just loves us that much. This is true also because our lives are so filled with sin. Because of Christ’s sacrifice we swim in grace and not the punishment we deserve.
Do you have a sin hanging over you that is unconfessed?
Tell Jesus that you are sorry. He will forgive your sin.
Then, get ready to be splashed and flooded with God grace. You are forgiven! You are a new creation. Kind of like a tree that used to be green becoming on fire with color.
Enjoy the fall! Revel in being forgiven and set free from the bondage of sin!
