New safety updates include interior cameras
Work continues to improve and upgrade the safety and security of Trinity Lutheran ChurchSchool.

Some of the most recent updates – as well as future plans - include:

Jeff Koenig, whose wife, Amy, teaches fifth grade at Trinity, has agreed to be the Ministry Team leader of the Safety Committee.

Interior cameras and trauma kits have been installed throughout the school.

Plans still are in place to install exterior cameras, escape ladders and to improve the exterior lighting of the church and school.

The Security Ministry Team – with help of Trinity’s Pastors and Elders – is crafting security policies for weekend worship services.

Options still are being investigated for a vestibule for the main entrance of the school.

Trinity member, Ben Mims, who has served in many safety and security capacities, is volunteering as a security resource for the school. His involvement provides a safety presence during the school day. He also provides a resource to faculty and staff as well as the school children.

A special thank you to the Security Ministry Team for all its efforts. The team includes: Pam Douglas, Ben Mims, Phil Specht, Matt Knutsen, Scott Utter, Shawn Willard, Joni Rebarcak, Tim Davison, Michelle Warner, Ron Lund and Jeff Koenig.

Important PTL meeting
Trinity's PTL meeting will be on Nov. 13 and will be in conjunction with a presentation by the Davenport Police Department.

From 6 p.m. to 6;30 p.m., PTL business will be discussed. At 6:30 p.m., Cpl. Hank Jacobsen from the Davenport Police Department will be doing a presentation on social media and internet safety in the lives of your children.

This is a very informative, eye-opening presentation, you will learn a lot, and you're encouraged to invite any parents, not just PTL members.

It is parents' discretion if you would like to bring high-school aged students only to the meeting, but please know some mature topics will be mentioned.
Trinity Craft Fair this Saturday
Trinity Lutheran's annual Fall Craft Fair will be on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission to the Craft Fair is free.

In addition to checking out the many vendors that will be on hand, make sure you sample some of the amazing home-made soups as well as the apple dumplings.
Veterans Day Program
Trinity Lutheran will be honoring all veterans and all those who are currently serving in the military during its annual Veterans Day Program.

The program will be Monday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. in the church.

There will be a reception after the program in the school lunchroom.
