ST. LUKE'S GIVE DAY IS ALMOST HERE | OCTOBER 21

 65 Years. Countless Stories.

We're just FIVE DAYS AWAY from St. Luke's Give Day on Wednesday, October 21!

As we prepare to celebrate 65 years of St. Luke's, we're excited to share that 100% of our faculty and staff have already committed to the Mother Oak Annual Fund! Their incredible support reflects their belief in our school, our students, and the opportunities we are creating for future generations of Wildcats.

Now, we're inviting our entire Wildcat family to join them! Every gift makes a difference, and every family's participation strengthens our school community.

You don't have to wait until Give Day! Early gifts are welcome and count toward our Give Day efforts.

Make Your Give Day Gift Today

Together, let's celebrate 65 years of tradition while investing in the next generation of Wildcats!

Celebrate our past. Invest in our future.

LITTLE WILDCATS, BIG FRIENDSHIPS!

St. Luke's 8th-grade "Bigs" met their K5 “Littles" for the first time this school year, enjoying books and playground time together! This is such a fun tradition, and they are looking forward to many more

visits together!

A "RADICAL" RETURN TO THE CLASSICS:

AP EURO ORATORY CHALLENGE

In a world of 15-second videos, Mr. Seamus Russell’s AP European History students took on a challenge they considered “radical” - memorizing and performing 22 lines from John Milton’s Paradise Lost before their classmates and a fabulous panel of judges (Mrs. Steiner, Mr. Box, Mr. Russell, and Mr. Sykes).

This unique experience highlighted the importance of memorization and public speaking, helping students develop confidence, deepen their understanding of literature, and bring timeless words to life.

Congratulations to all 19 student orators for rising to the challenge,

and a special congratulations to Daniel Myc, who earned first place!

LEARNING TAKES FLIGHT IN THE OAKLAND BUTTERFLY GARDEN

The Oakland Butterfly Garden is blooming with exciting opportunities for hands-on STEM+M learning!

Under Mrs. Thompson's guidance, our Japonica Campus students are discovering the wonders of nature right outside their classroom doors. From tiny caterpillars to chrysalises and beautiful butterflies, students can observe the butterfly life cycle up close while exploring metamorphosis, habitats, pollinators, plants, and the important role each plays in our ecosystem.

Science comes to life through curiosity, exploration, and discovery!

EXPLORING SCIENCE BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

Mrs. Champagne’s second-grade took their curiosity on the road with a fun-filled field trip to the Exploreum Science Center! Students explored the exciting world of science through interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and discoveries that sparked their curiosity and imagination.

At St. Luke’s, learning goes beyond the classroom as students explore, ask questions, and discover the world around them. What a fun way to bring science to life!

BUILDING ROBOTS, CONFIDENCE, & FUTURE ENGINEERS

The Robotics team participated in an online meeting where they shared their robot design with a panel of engineering judges from Gulf Coast BEST Robotics hub. As the team shared their experiences with the development, prototype manufacturing and testing, they were asked pointed questions by the panel.

Mr. Stevens is extremely proud of the team’s responses, which reflect their experiences. The team includes several 6th graders, two 7th graders, and one 8th grader, as well as a few high schoolers, including one senior. While senior Jenna Simpson helped maintain the discussion flow through the various slides, the development background and experiences of the middle schoolers showed they are passionate about this year's challenge.

A SHOUT-OUT FOR MAKING GREAT CHOICES

We love celebrating our Wildcats for doing great things on the Japonica Campus!

Students who are spotted making good choices, showing kindness, demonstrating respect, or going out of their way to help a student or adult may earn a special Wildcat Shout-Out!

During Chapel, Mrs. Wallace recognizes these students and gives each one a Shout-Out card to take home and proudly share with their families.

It’s one more way we can celebrate the everyday choices that make our school community such a special place. Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness and character can make the BIGGEST difference!

Keep it up, Wildcats - you never know when YOU might earn the next Shout-Out!

HONORING OUR HEROES: VETERANS DAY TRIBUTES

DUE (OCTOBER 22)

Each year, St. Luke’s proudly recognizes and celebrates the brave men and women who have served our country, especially those within our St. Luke’s family and community.

This year, we will host Veterans Day events on both campuses on Wednesday, November 11. We will share additional details about these special celebrations soon.

As part of our tribute, we are creating a new Veterans Day video featuring photographs of St. Luke’s family members and friends who are veterans, retired service members, or currently serving on active duty. We will show the video on both campuses as we honor their service and sacrifice.

Photo Submission Deadline: Thursday, October 22

Please see the attached information for photo submission instructions.

IMPORTANT: We are creating an entirely new tribute video this year. Even if you submitted a photograph in previous years, you must submit a new photograph to be included in this year's video. Even if you do not have a photograph to include in the tribute video, we encourage you to submit your loved one's name and branch of service so they can be recognized on our Wall of Honor.

Thank you for helping us recognize and honor the heroes who are part of our St. Luke’s community!

A NIGHT OF MYSTERY, MUSIC & THEATRE:

CENTER STAGE'S FALL SHOWCASE (NOVEMBER 1)

Center Stage is proud to present its 3rd Annual Fall Showcase on November 1st at 4:00 p.m. in the University Campus Theatre! Students will present the songs and scenes they are competing in at the Trumbauer Theatre Festival, followed by their fall play, This Murder Was Staged.

It's the opening night of a brand-new mystery play, but just as the killer is about to be revealed, the body of the play's director falls onstage. In that moment, the theater becomes an active crime scene, and everyone from cast to crew to even the audience becomes a suspect. This fast-paced, backstabbing comedy provides laughs for all ages!

Student tickets are $5 online and $10 at the door, and adult tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door. Tickets may be purchased here. TICKET LINK WILL CLOSE AT 3:00 p.m. ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30TH.
