SAVE THE DATE: ST. LUKE'S GIVE DAY IS OCTOBER 21

 65 Years. Countless Stories.

For 65 years, one generation has passed the St. Luke’s story to the next. From our youngest Wildcats just beginning their journey to the seniors preparing for what comes next, every student becomes part of a story that began in 1961.

Generations of students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends have shaped that story by believing in St. Luke’s and investing in the opportunities that make our school so special.

As we celebrate our 65th anniversary, we honor all those who helped write the chapters that came before us - and look forward to the countless stories still waiting to be written.

And we’re just getting started.

Celebrating 65 Years

St. Luke’s Give Day • October 21

Stay tuned over the coming weeks as we share more stories and ways to be part of this special day.

SENIOR PRIVILEGE CEREMONY FOR THE CLASS OF 2027

The Class of 2027 recently celebrated its Senior Privilege Ceremony. Dressed proudly in their class t-shirts, students received their St. Luke’s keychains and, most importantly,

were granted their long-awaited Senior Privileges.

We were honored to have Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis join us as a guest speaker. He spoke about the importance of making thoughtful decisions throughout this year and in college, as well as the value of seeking wisdom from trusted friends, adults, and the Lord. Finally, he reminded the seniors that they are all “precious” and will no doubt have bright futures that they may not even have pondered yet.

The morning concluded with a reception for our students and parents.

SUPERHEROES OF FAITH TAKE THE STAGE

Our first graders took the stage for a special performance of “Superheroes of the Faith,” reminding us that real heroes don’t need capes - they simply need the courage to follow God’s call!

Through songs, scripture, and joyful storytelling, our Wildcats brought biblical heroes to life while sharing lessons of faith, courage, kindness, and purpose with our school community.

We are so proud of our first graders for their hard work and for sharing such a meaningful

and uplifting message!

WHEN OTHER SCHOOLS COME TO LEARN FROM ST. LUKE'S

Sometimes you need to see St. Luke’s through the eyes of others to fully appreciate what we've built right here in Mobile. Schools from across the Southeast are coming to our school to learn what we are doing, particularly in our Biomedical Sciences program.

Most recently, St. Luke’s welcomed faculty from Orangewood Christian School in Orlando, Florida. Orangewood is developing its own Biomedical Sciences program and came to learn firsthand about our curriculum, facilities, professional partnerships, signature experiences, and approach

to hands-on learning.

Over the past 16 years, Biomedical Sciences has grown into St. Luke’s flagship program and a model for other independent schools. Orangewood joins schools from Mississippi, South Carolina, and Tennessee that have also sought St. Luke’s guidance as they develop their own biomed programs. We have had the privilege of helping these schools develop curriculum, build networks of healthcare and community professionals, and determine how to adapt elements of our program to create meaningful experiences for their own students.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but perhaps an even greater compliment is having respected peer schools seek out St. Luke’s expertise and model their developing programs on our successes. It is an incredible honor and affirmation to be recognized by prestigious independent schools as a trailblazing, cutting-edge, forward-thinking institution.

We want our own community to see what others see. If you know a family, friend, neighbor, or colleague who should experience St. Luke’s for themselves, invite them to come take a tour. Help us share what other independent school educators are traveling to Mobile to see: a school doing something truly distinctive for its students.

CELEBRATING WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE: AN ELMER PARADE!

Last week, Kindergarten students enjoyed one of Mrs. Wallace’s favorite books, Elmer by David McKee. The colorful story follows Elmer, a patchwork elephant who learns an important lesson:

being different is something to celebrate!

Inspired by Elmer’s story, each student created and decorated a one-of-a-kind Elmer of their own.

Then, on Friday, our Kindergarteners brought the story to life with a colorful Elmer Parade

on their way to carpool!

It was a fun-filled way to celebrate individuality, creativity, and all the special qualities that make

each of us unique!

MACEY BROWN NAMED ST. LUKE'S RED RIBBON LEADER

Congratulations to Macey Brown, who has been selected to serve as St. Luke’s Episcopal School’s

Red Ribbon Leader!

Passionate about the mission of Red Ribbon Week, Macey will help lead activities across both St. Luke’s campuses, encouraging students to make healthy, drug-free choices while promoting kindness and generosity throughout our school community.

As part of her leadership role, Macey will also complete a special project benefiting our Hometown Heroes. This spring, she will present her project to the Red Ribbon Council for review and the opportunity to earn the Courtney Upton Leadership Scholarship.

We are proud of Macey for taking on this leadership role and using it to make a positive difference at

St. Luke’s and in our community!

A BELOVED ST. LUKE'S TRADITION: BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS

Our Japonica Campus students enjoyed one of our favorite St. Luke’s traditions,

the Annual Blessing of the Animals!

Students and families brought their beloved pets - and a few favorite stuffed animals - to campus for a special blessing and time together. From wagging tails and furry friends to lots of smiles,

it was a sweet morning celebrating the animals who bring so much joy to our lives.

We are grateful for traditions like this that bring our St. Luke’s community together and remind us to celebrate and care for all of God’s creatures.

INSIDE THE CAMPAIGN:

AP GOVERNMENT STUDENTS STEP INTO WASHINGTON

Our AP® U.S. Government and Politics students are taking learning beyond the textbook with their Project-Based Learning: Elections Project!

For the first of several hands-on events, students participated in a Washington Insider Meet & Greet, transforming the STEM+M Center into a Washington, D.C. style networking event. Party leaders, media outlets, campaign teams, candidates, and interest group leaders were all “in attendance,” ready to introduce themselves, build connections, and learn more about one another’s roles in the political process.

Students fully immersed themselves in their assigned roles, gaining a firsthand look at the relationships, strategy, communication, and competing interests involved in presidential campaigns.

It was an engaging start to the Elections Project - and a great example of our Wildcats learning by doing!

MR. MENTON HAS A "BALL" IN PRESCHOOL PE

Who says the students get to have all the fun? Mr. Menton stopped by Preschool PE and couldn’t resist joining our youngest Wildcats for a little playtime!

From tossing the ball to sharing plenty of smiles, it looks like Mr. Menton had a “ball” with K2!

A SHOUT-OUT FOR MAKING GREAT CHOICES

We love celebrating our Wildcats for doing great things on the Japonica Campus!

Students who are spotted making good choices, showing kindness, demonstrating respect, or going out of their way to help a student or adult may earn a special Wildcat Shout-Out!

During Chapel, Mrs. Wallace recognizes these students and gives each one a Shout-Out card to take home and proudly share with their families.

It’s one more way we can celebrate the everyday choices that make our school community such a special place. Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness and character can make the BIGGEST difference!

Keep it up, Wildcats - you never know when YOU might earn the next Shout-Out!
