ALL THINGS HALLOWEEN AT ST. LUKE'S

Spooktacular times at St. Luke's! From our fall festival to the traditional Halloween parade

and the unforgettable middle school dance, Halloween FUN was everywhere!

Fall Fest 2024...

The sweetest Halloween parade ever.....

Does anyone recognize Shrek and Donkey?

Middle School Dance

Middle school sharks...

Alvin and the Chimpmunks....

ST. LUKE'S STUDENTS ARE A SOARING SUCCESS!

Students in PLTW's Aerospace Engineering course were asked to design a balsa wood glider using AERY software to achieve a straight flight of 36 feet with minimal pitch and roll.

STRATEGIC PLANNING IN PROCESS

Faculty and staff gather in small groups to work on the strategic plan.

ST. LUKE'S EXCELLENT TRUMBAUER SHOWCASE

St. Luke's Center Stage hosted the first-ever Trumbauer Showcase - performing their solos, monologues, duet scenes, and fall play, "Patterns and Power: The Female Edison" before District Trumbauer. Huge congratulations to our performers for a successful showcase!

Break a leg at District, we know you'll do great!

GOURD ADVENTURES: EXPLORING THE WORLD

WITH OUR FIVE SENSES

It's the perfect season to explore the world one gourd at a time! Our preschool students use their five senses to compare and contrast the fascinating gourds. From the bumpy textures to the unique scents and vibrant colors, each gourd tells its own story!

AP EUROPEAN HISTORY: PROTESTANT REFORMATION DINNER PARTY TO EXPLORE HISTORICAL RIVALRIES AND ALLIANCES

AP European History students take on the Protestant Reformation with an in-class "dinner party." For the project, each student stepped into the shoes of key historical figures such as Martin Luther, Henry VIII, Mary I, Elizabeth I, or Pope Leo X by researching each role beforehand and then strategically sat next to arch-rivals or family members to discuss hot topics of the time or air out family drama.

SENIOR CLASS DAY OF SERVICE

Our seniors spent a meaningful day at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, engaging in acts of kindness and community service. From making blessing bags for local blessing boxes in Mobile to enhancing the pet memorial garden and resurrecting the Stations of the Cross trail, their dedication was inspiring. Seniors opened and closed with morning and noon devotions, reflecting deeply on the call to serve as emphasized in John 13:1-17, where Jesus washes his disciples’ feet.

We're proud of our seniors for embodying the spirit of service and making a positive impact

in our community. Keep shining bright!

SUBMIT VETERANS INFORMATION & RSVP FORM - DUE NOVEMBER 4

Each year, St. Luke’s recognizes and honors our veterans for their service to our country. On Monday, November 11, both the Japonica and University Campuses will have special events. If you have friends or relatives who are veterans, please invite them to attend these events. Veterans and their families are welcome to attend both events.

The University Campus - The University Campus will begin the day with a breakfast for our veterans and family members from 7:00-7:45 a.m., followed by a special assembly at 8:00 a.m. in the Moorer Center for the Performing Arts. This year's guest speaker is United States Army veteran Mr. Michael Holland, Sr., former chairman of the board and St. Luke’s alumnus. There will be performances by our band, choral and drama students and patriotic artwork provided by our art students.

The Japonica Campus - At 10:00 a.m., the Japonica Campus will have a special program of patriotic music provided by our 5th-grade students. Following the program, there will be a reception in St. Luke’s Hall for our veterans and their family members.

If you have video footage of family or friends in the military (maybe welcoming home or receiving special recognition, etc.) we would love to use it in our video salute on Veterans Day. Please email video to veteransday@slesmobile.org.

Please fill out the attached form below indicating which or both events the

veterans will be attending. RSVP by November 4, 2024.
