ST. LUKE'S GIVE DAY - SAVE THE DATE!

When is Give Day?

October 15-16, 2025

What is Give Day?

Give Day is an online fundraising campaign to bring the St. Luke’s Episcopal School community together. The goals are to increase engagement and drive philanthropic donations to the school.

Why?

Simply put, tuition doesn’t cover the cost of educating our students. Give Day offers an opportunity for us to come together and provide our students with the resources they need to succeed in college and life.

DRIVE THE FUTURE GOLF TOURNAMENT - SAVE THE DATE!

Please mark your calendars for Thursday, November 13, and join us at beautiful Magnolia Grove for our Drive the Future Golf Tournament! This exciting event supports transportation needs for student activities and programs at St. Luke’s.

We invite parents, alumni, and community members to join us for this special day. Whether you’re playing a round, cheering on the golfers, or partnering with us through sponsorship, your support helps keep our students moving and thriving.

Sponsorship opportunities are available now—a great way to promote your business while investing in our Wildcats.

WELCOMING NEW FAMILIES

St. Luke's recently welcomed our newest Wildcat families with a special breakfast held on both campuses.

We hope our new families enjoyed this opportunity to connect with one another, meet members of the

St. Luke's community, and celebrate the start of their St. Luke's journey.

CLASS OF 2026 SENIOR PRIVILEGE CEREMONY

The Class of 2026 recently celebrated its Senior Privilege Ceremony. Dressed proudly in their class

t-shirts, students received their St. Luke’s keychains and, most importantly, were granted their long-awaited Senior Privileges.

We were honored to have Joe Bonner join us as a guest speaker. His inspiring remarks left our seniors with a valuable perspective as they step into this next chapter. The morning concluded with a reception for students and their parents.

EXPLORING FACTOR PAIRS IN 4th GRADE

Ms. Watson’s 4th grade math students got hands-on with factors using square tiles. Given a number, each student created rectangular arrays with their tiles and then sketched the arrays on graph paper. This hands-on activity helped students visualize factor pairs and strengthened their understanding of multiplication in a fun, interactive way.

AP EUROPEAN HISTORY STUDENTS

BRING THE REFORMATION TO LIFE

Coach Russell's AP European History students take on the Protestant Reformation with an in-class "dinner party." For the project, each student stepped into the shoes of key historical figures by researching their roles beforehand and then strategically sat next to arch-rivals or family members to discuss the hot topics of the time or air out family drama.

PRESCHOOLERS GATHER FOR WEEKLY CHAPEL

Our preschool students look forward to their age-appropriate weekly chapel services. These special gatherings provide a nurturing and engaging environment designed just for them. Through simple, meaningful messages, students are introduced to important values like kindness and sharing.

SENIOR BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES STUDENTS TOUR

THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH ALABAMA'S

COVEY COLLEGE OF ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONS

St. Luke’s Biomedical Sciences Interventions Classes visited the University of South Alabama’s Covey College of Allied Health Professions for a full day of hands-on learning and exploration.

They toured Radiologic Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Pathology & Audiology, Biomedical Sciences, Emergency Medical Services, and Physician Assistant Studies.  Thank you to Dr. Charles Erwin, Associate Dean for Community Engagement, for coordinating this extensive tour and hands-on experience for our students.

COACH RUSSELL RECEIVES STEM GRANT

FROM TOSHIBA AMERICA FOUNDATION

St. Luke’s Episcopal has received a $3,850 STEM grant from the Toshiba America Foundation (TAF) thanks to a unique proposal by AP History teacher Seamus Russell! This funding will support experiential learning in Mr. Russell’s classes.

His students will combine history with robotics and computer science, using the Frankenstein: Annotated for Scientists, Engineers, and Creators of All Kinds edition as a supplemental text. Through grant-funded Hummingbird Bit Robotics Kits, they’ll design their own Frankenstein’s Monsters while exploring the Enlightenment, Romanticism, the Industrial Revolution, and ethical questions about innovation and technology.

According to TAF: “Grants fund projects designed by individual classroom teachers. This direct-to-teacher approach brings immediate results, helping students engage with experiments and inquiry-based learning, making STEM fun and exciting."

ST. LUKE'S STUDENTS USE BIOLOGY TO SOLVE A CRIME

A crime occurred, and St. Luke’s top-notch biology students in Mrs. Perez's class were asked to assist in the investigation. To find a suspect, detectives need to establish the victim's whereabouts on the day of the crime, so they can question individuals with whom the victim came into contact.

Students tested the "stomach contents" for the presence of specific macromolecules to determine the victim's last possible meal, revealing where he had eaten and with whom he had eaten.

PHYSICS IN MOTION: LEARNING VELOCITY & ACCELERATION

Mrs. Haynes’ Physics students recently took their lesson outside to put velocity and acceleration into action. Each student hopped on a Razor scooter and used the timing app Coach My Video to measure their own velocity in real time. With this data in hand, students calculated their rates of acceleration and deceleration by analyzing the slopes of their velocity-time graphs.

This hands-on approach made abstract concepts come alive—turning the streets into a

dynamic physics lab.
