CONGRATULATIONS TO ST. LUKE'S CLASS OF 2025

Congratulations to the St. Luke’s Class of 2025! You did it! This graduation marks the end of your high school journey and the beginning of countless new opportunities and adventures.

We are incredibly proud of each of you. The Class of 2025 has shown outstanding academic excellence, athletic prowess, and artistic creativity. Your actions have made a difference, whether through community service, extracurricular activities, or simply being a supportive friend.

As you embark on the next chapter of your lives, remember that St. Luke’s will always be a part of you. We will miss your presence dearly, but are excited to see what the future holds for you. Be sure to carry the values and lessons you’ve learned, believe in yourselves, strive for excellence, and never stop reaching for your dreams.

UNIVERSITY CAMPUS LAST DAY OF SCHOOL WALK

When the University Campus was the Julius T Wright School for Girls, Mr. Gus Hamner, their headmaster, would walk through the halls ringing his bell. This tradition signaled that the year was officially over and students would exit their classrooms and fall behind him as they paraded to the Quad for ice cream. Mr. Hamner donated that bell to St. Luke’s, requesting that the head of school continue this tradition. In May of 2010, Mr. Palmer Kennedy did just that. And we have honored that request every year since, except in 2020, because of COVID.

Mrs. Banks began the parade by the gym. As she passed classrooms, students joined the group being led to the auditorium for a summer send-off with popsicles!

GOODBYE K5, HELLO FIRST GRADE!

St. Luke’s young scholars marked a significant milestone, successfully completing K5, with cap and gown photos. They are prepared to embark on their academic journey into first grade. We are proud of their growth, hard work, and the bright futures ahead!

ST. LUKE'S 3RD-5TH GRADE HONORS DAY

The Japonica Campus celebrated some 3rd-5th grade accomplishments from this school year. The atmosphere was also filled with excitement as we celebrated our 5th graders before they transition to the next chapter of their educational journey. They were acknowledged with special awards, recognizing their hard work, dedication, and growth throughout their years on the Japonica Campus. These awards highlighted academic excellence, leadership, and unique contributions to the school community.

Following the ceremony, a banquet was held for the 5th graders and their families, providing an opportunity to reflect on their experiences and share memories. Although they will be missed, there is great anticipation for their arrival on the University Campus, where new adventures and opportunities await!

EXPLORING ARCHIMEDES' PRINCIPLE: A PHYSICS ADVENTURE

Mrs. Haynes’ physics classes dove into Archimedes’ Principle & buoyancy through a hands-on project that was as educational as it was entertaining. After exploring the theory behind why objects float or sink, the students were tasked with an exciting challenge: to build their boats using only cardboard and packing tape. The culmination of their efforts was tested at the home of Mrs. Heather Lersch. Stepping into their boats is always a mix of excitement and apprehension, as they want to see how well their designs can resist water and stay afloat. Despite the varying degrees of success, every attempt was a learning opportunity!
