ST. LUKE'S K5 STARS DAZZLE WITH PERFORMANCE

St. Luke's K5 students lit up the stage with their performance of "E-I-E-I OOPS." The audience was taken on a journey to Farmer MacDonald's barnyard, where a cast of singing animals entertained with their antics. The plot thickened when the cow lost his moo in a surprising turn of events! But worry not, as the barnyard crew rallied together to find a solution!

A round of applause goes to our talented K5 students and their dedicated teachers for delivering an unforgettable show. Their creativity and enthusiasm were indeed a testament to the vibrant spirit of St. Luke's! Bravo to all involved in making this performance a success!

EXPLOSIVE CHEMISTRY: FOAMY FUN IN MRS. FRIEDLANDER'S CHEMISTRY CLASS

In Mrs. Friedlander's chemistry class, students conducted the Elephant Toothpaste experiment to explore the key components of a chemical reaction. They identified reactants and products, determined the reaction type, and analyzed whether it was endothermic or exothermic. While they enjoyed watching the foam expand during the hands-on activity, the real excitement came when they took the experiment outside—scaling it up for an even bigger, foam-filled reaction with higher temperatures!

K5 DISCOVERS THE WONDERS OF CHEMISTRY

Who knew learning about chemical reactions could be so fun? At St. Luke's, our K5 students had a blast learning about the wonders of chemical reactions through an engaging, hands-on science lab activity! Our young students are building a strong foundation for a lifetime of scientific curiosity and innovation.

THEATER STUDENTS PRACTICE FOR SPRING MUSICAL: LEGALLY BLONDE MUSICAL JR (APRIL 11-13)

AP GOVERNMENT STUDENTS TAKE ON SUPREME COURT CASES

The AP Government class at St. Luke's had an exciting opportunity to participate in a simulated Supreme Court experience. This engaging exercise allowed students to apply their knowledge of constitutional law and provided a platform for developing critical thinking and public speaking skills.

This Supreme Court simulation provided an inspiring educational opportunity that exemplifies the innovative learning experiences at St. Luke’s, where students are encouraged to explore diverse fields!

Did you know that Mr. Box, a St. Luke’s Government teacher, served as the City Attorney for Chickasaw for ten years, the Municipal Judge for Satsuma for five years, and, most notably, in the Alabama Legislature for sixteen years? After all his accomplishments, he decided to give back and share his knowledge with our future lawmakers!

MRS. ANDERSON'S GREEK & LATIN CLASS FOSTERS CREATIVE LANGUAGE LEARNING

In Mrs. Anderson's Greek and Latin literature class, 8th-grade students have been actively participating in an innovative project involving creating memes. Initially, these memes were developed in Latin and then translated into English. To deepen their understanding of language structure, students were instructed to include at least one adjective in their memes, highlighting the use of adjectives in both English and Latin.

During the presentation phase, students engaged their peers by inviting them to translate the memes from Latin to English. This collaborative effort enhanced their comprehension of both languages and promoted a sense of community and teamwork in the classroom.

HANDS-ON LEARNING WITH INTUBATION

How many sophomore and junior students can say they have had practice intubating?

Ms. Gabrielle Dion, a senior at the University of South Alabama, recently visited our biomed students and brought with her an invaluable learning experience. She introduced the students to the complex and essential medical procedure of intubation. Each student had the chance to practice intubating a mannequin, giving them a unique, hands-on opportunity to apply their knowledge in a realistic setting. What an incredible opportunity for our future medical professionals!

CODING ADVENTURES: EXPLORING ROBOTICS & PROGRAMMING

Students experience the joy of coding through hands-on activities with the Code & Go Robot Mouse. This interactive tool introduced them to the basics of programming logic and problem-solving. As they guided the Robot Mouse through various mazes, students learned how to create step-by-step instructions, enhancing their understanding of sequencing and debugging.
