CELEBRATING OUR AP SCHOLARS

St. Luke’s is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of our Upper School students for the 2025 AP test administration. 65% of our Upper School students were enrolled in at least one AP course, showcasing a strong commitment to academic excellence. Nineteen students were named AP Scholars, collectively completing 55 exams at the end of the 2024–2025 school year. Impressively, 95% of these exams earned a score of 3 or higher, a true testament to our students’ hard work and dedication.

Among this year’s honorees:

  • 3 students achieved the title of AP Scholar with Distinction (awarded to students with an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams).

Gavin Leege, William McDonough, and Zane West.

  • 7 students earned recognition as AP Scholar with Honor (awarded to students with an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams and scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams).

Mac Boone, Calista Conway, Rishi Gupta, Lily Liller, Megan McDonough, Shelby

Stevens, and Joseph Tiemann-Mena.

  • 9 students were recognized as AP Scholars (awarded to students who earn scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams).

Ella Bentley, Sophie Bitzer, Armahni Coleman, Carson Dewitt, Chloe Lambert,

Howard Johnson, Emily McKellar, Brooks Musial, and Bennett Wallace.

Congratulations to our Wildcats for this incredible academic achievement!

K5 STUDENTS SHINE WITH "ALL-ABOUT ME" PRESENTATIONS

Mrs. Smith’s K5 students had a wonderful time sharing their “All-About Me” projects with classmates. Each student proudly presented their poster, filled with favorite things, fun facts, and special details that make them unique.

The project was an excellent way for students to practice public speaking, build confidence, and celebrate what makes each of them one-of-a-kind. We love to see you shine, Wildcats!

VITALS CHECK: SKILLS FOR THE FUTURE

Biomedical Sciences Fundamentals I students recently rolled up their sleeves for a hands-on vital signs lab. During the session, they practiced essential clinical skills, including measuring temperature, respirations, blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation. Students learned not only the proper techniques and anatomical landmarks but also the importance of recognizing normal ranges and identifying potential abnormalities.

The lab also introduced students to professional diagnostic tools, from understanding the bell and diaphragm of the stethoscope to mastering the use of a sphygmomanometer (blood pressure cuff). They even discovered how the direction of the stethoscope’s ear tubes can influence sound quality—a small but critical detail for accuracy.

By practicing on one another, students built confidence in their technique while laying a strong foundation for accurate patient assessments and future medical training.

4th GRADE SCIENCE = HANDS-ON LEARNING & HIGH ENERGY FUN!

St. Luke’s 4th-grade students took learning to new heights with their bumper coasters activity! They built roller coasters and sent marbles zooming down the tracks to explore height energy and energy transfer. Hands-on science = big discoveries!

FUTURE LEADERS IN ACTION:

TWO WILDCATS JOIN THE T.A.L.L. PROGRAM

We are thrilled to congratulate Rishi Gupta and Joanna Junaid for being named to represent our community and school for the Southwest Mobile Chamber of Commerce T.A.L.L. Program.  Throughout their time in the program, they will be given opportunities to volunteer in the community, explore local businesses and organizations, gain insights from financial experts, engage with elected officials, and much more!

CELEBRATING OUR RISING STARS

St. Luke’s is proud to recognize students who earned Rising Star honors on the PreACT—a distinction that highlights strong academic performance and future college readiness. We are so proud of these Wildcats for their hard work, dedication, and educational achievements. Congratulations to all!

COAST TO COAST CONNECTIONS (SEPTEMBER 10)

Join us September 10 at 6:00 p.m. in the Louise R. Moorer Center for Performing Arts for an evening of discovery!

St. Luke’s teacher Seamus Russell and junior Savannah Haynes will share their incredible summer experiences working alongside scientists—both in Maine’s Acadia National Park and right here on the Gulf Coast at Dauphin Island Sea Lab.

Come hear their first-hand stories from the field, explore how science connects two very different coasts, and find out how teachers and students can get involved in hands-on environmental research.

Educators will walk away with CEUs—and everyone will leave inspired to explore their own path into environmental research!
