ST. LUKE'S IS 100 DAYS SMARTER!

Our Japonica Campus celebrated the 100th Day of School—and that means 100 days of learning, 100 days of growing, and 100 days smarter! We’re so proud of how far they’ve come in just 100 days!

And...our first graders had a pawsome time celebrating the 101st Day of School by dressing up as the 101 Dalmatians! This special milestone was filled with fun, creativity, and learning as students participated in engaging activities centered on the number 101. What a great way to mark 101 days of first grade!

8th GRADE DISNEY TRIP FUN

Our 8th graders experienced science, technology, and creativity come together in the most magical way!

During a Technology Workshop with Disney’s Imagination Campus Youth Education Series at EPCOT, students went backstage to learn how cutting-edge technology is used throughout the parks to enhance storytelling. Even better, many of the concepts are directly connected to the principles they study in 8th-grade science, bringing classroom learning to life in an unforgettable way.

After the workshop, students explored the World Showcase at EPCOT and wrapped up the trip with an exciting day at Magic Kingdom—a perfect blend of education, inspiration, and fun.

SPEECH AND DEBATE TEAM COMPETES AT UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA HALL OF FAME TOURNAMENT

Recently, our Speech and Debate team traveled to Tuscaloosa, AL, to compete in the University of Alabama Hall of Fame Speech and Debate Tournament. Evelyn Cummings, Rishi Gupta, Ashton Roberts, CJ Roberston, and Jenna Simpson competed in a variety of events representing St. Luke’s. Jenna Simpson made it to the final round in Poetry, placing 5th. Evelyn Cummings placed first in the final round of Humorous Interpretation. Congratulations to our Speech and Debate team!

WILDCAT BAND'S ANNUAL TRIP

Our St. Luke's Wildcat band had a blast on their annual trip! This year, they toured New Orleans and learned about history while enjoying some incredible music. They were so excited to meet the famous

Dr. Dorreen (jazz clarinet) as well as the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

COOPER FRAMPTON GIFTS OWL TREE TOPPER TO MRS. HARRISON

The St. Luke’s “Enchanted Forest” themed Christmas tree was awarded 3rd place in the Mobile Regional Airport’s annual competition. The tree topper this year was a giant paper-mache owl made by Cooper Frampton. Cooper gifted it to Mrs. Harrison because “She loves owls and it represents the Greek goddess Minerva, or Athena.”

JAPONICA CAMPUS STUDENTS TAKE LEARNING TO NEW HEIGHTS

As part of their study on the forces involved in flight in the STEM+M Lab, students designed, built, and tested their own experimental model gliders. Through hands-on exploration, they discovered how air and other forces affect how far and how smoothly their gliders could fly. Engineering, experimenting, FUN!

BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES STUDENTS LEAD THE WAY

IN NUTRITION EDUCATION

Our Biomedical Sciences Fundamentals I students took their learning on the road, traveling to the Japonica Campus to teach our 4th graders using Fat Finders and Sugar Sleuths! Together, they explored nutrition labels, examined the fat and sugar in typical fast-food meals, and discussed simple ways to make healthier choices.

The students shared a short slide presentation and their “Rethink Your Drink” poster project, then guided the 4th graders through a hands-on activity using real fast-food meal examples. The best part? Students used their math skills to convert grams of sugar and fat into teaspoons—a powerful visual that made the numbers feel real. Great teaching, great learning, and a wonderful example of older students

leading the way!
