ST. LUKE'S NAMED A 2025-2026 PLTW DISTINGUISHED SCHOOL
We are proud to announce that St. Luke’s has been named a 2025–2026 Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished School — an impressive national recognition that reflects our strong commitment to STEM+M education as outlined in our Vision Statement and Core Message.
According to PLTW, St. Luke’s is one of only 18 schools statewide to receive this distinction. Even more notably, we are the only elementary school in our area to be recognized and one of just two middle schools to earn this honor. This achievement places St. Luke’s in an elite group of schools nationwide and highlights the strength and impact of our K–12 STEM+M pathway.
This recognition is a direct reflection of the outstanding dedication and innovation of our faculty, especially Heather Lersch, Dana Thompson, Ashley Watson, and Karen Calametti.
Through thoughtful implementation of PLTW modules beginning in K4, our students are engaged in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that foster creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and a passion for discovery.
We are incredibly proud of our faculty and students for continuing to build a culture of excellence in STEM+M education at St. Luke’s. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this remarkable achievement possible!

REFER A FAMILY. EARN A $500 TUITION CREDIT
We love it when our St. Luke’s families share their experience with others! If you refer a new family and they enroll at St. Luke’s, your family will receive a $500 tuition credit as our way of saying thank you.
Word of mouth is one of the greatest compliments we can receive. If you know a family who would thrive in our nurturing environment and strong academic programs, encourage them to explore St. Luke’s.
When they enroll and list your family as the referral, you’ll earn a $500 credit toward your tuition.
Thank you for helping our St. Luke’s community grow!

THE CLASS OF 2026 SAYS THEIR GOODBYES
The Class of 2026 experienced one of our most cherished traditions, “Walking the Halls,” as they bid farewell to the youngest Wildcats on Japonica before doing the same on the University Campus.
For many of these seniors, walking through the infamous red doors of the lower campus held a special significance, a moment filled with nostalgia and reflection, a reminder of how far they’ve come! The next time these students pass through the red doors, they will do so as alumni, carrying with them the lessons and memories of their formative years.
Walking the Halls of the upper campus made us realize they are one step closer to their future, ready to embrace new challenges and opportunities, and we couldn’t be prouder!
We love you, Class of 2026!

THE BELL RINGS FOR SUMMER
Long before St. Luke’s called the University Campus home, the campus served as the Julius T. Wright School for Girls. Their headmaster, Mr. Gus Hamner, marked the end of each school year by walking through the halls, ringing a bell. As the bell echoed through the building, students would leave their classrooms and fall in behind him, parading to the Quad for a celebratory treat.
Mr. Hamner later donated that cherished bell to St. Luke’s with one special request: that the Head of School continue the tradition. In May 2010, Mr. Palmer Kennedy proudly carried on the custom, and every year since — with the exception of 2020 during the COVID pandemic —
the beloved tradition has continued.
This year, Mrs. Banks led the parade beginning at the gym. As she passed each classroom, students joined the procession, making their way to the Quad for a summer send-off complete with popsicles, smiles, and celebration!
