Emmylou Made Her TV Debut! | |
The West Suburban Humane Society was featured LIVE on ABC 7 Chicago for their "Forever Home Friday" series! On Friday, June 19th, adoptable rescue dog, Emmylou, and Director of Development, Zoe McGrath, joined Tracy Butler in the studio.
Emmylou is a sweet 7-year-old hound mix and she loved meeting everyone. Zoe spoke about Emmylou, fostering, the rescue beagles, and how to get involved.

| One Month of Beagle Freedom | |
One month has already passed since eleven rescue beagles were welcomed at WSHS through a national rescue effort, so some of the #BagelBeagles got together for a little reunion!
Jalapeño, Bran, Plain, and Marble Rye had a lovely play date! They played in the grass, relaxed under the trampoline, and enjoyed the sunshine. They were so happy to see each other!
| One month of freedom may not seem like a lot, but these rescue beagles have already gotten to experience so many new things in their loving foster homes. While some of the beagles are still hesitant around people, others have become more comfortable in new spaces. We are so glad we get to give them the chance to learn how to be a dog! | |
Medical care is ongoing, with the majority of the 11 beagles needing dental surgery and treatment for skin, foot, and ear infections. In the foster homes, they are getting the individualized care they need to recover and heal.
We are so thankful for everyone who is supporting this effort! Whether by donating or spreading awareness, you are helping us make an impact. Together, we can give every one of these beagles a bright future.
| Celebrating Pride Month with Art! | To celebrate Pride Month this June, we've joined in on the annual Downers Grove community tradition! We joined over 30+ local Downers Grove businesses in having our front windows painted, in partnership with EQDG. Local artists creatively hand painted each of the window murals that you can see throughout the Village. Thank you to artists Kelly and Sarah for painting our windows, they look awesome! |
